Top brass at the Metro Atlanta Chamber said Wednesday they will make avoiding another firestorm of controversy over religious liberty legislation a top priority when the state Legislature reconvenes in January.
SunTrust Banks Executive Vice President Jenner Wood, the outgoing chairman of the chambers board, said the conversation alone over the legislation, which critics deride as discriminatory toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, is damaging to the states reputation of tolerance and inclusion. It also can dent Georgias economic progress since the recession.

Someone with some knowledge please chime in: isn’t Atlanta a big homosexual town?
San Francisco of the South or something of the sort?
More economic extortion from the left. And fake extortion at that.
So I've heard. I saw a list posted here of the most "gay friendly" cities and Atlanta was way up there.
That is Brandon Beach’s group. He also wants to bring horse racing to the state.
Brandon Beach is in line to replace Tom Price.
Yep.
This was a test of political will and sadly our side lost.
Deal also, vetoed a campus carry bill.
The dude isn't a conservative.
I just had a luncheon last week with some of these “top brass” hacks at the ACOC. Half of them are suddectresses.
Money is their religion - remember this!
Sounds like its time to close my Suntrust account.
Chamber of Commerce organizations once upon a time had Christian business owners involved. Now, adulation of the dollar and celebration of anti-biblical behaviors are the most important guideposts.
Wickedness.
Damn these people. Their number is infinitesimal but they are forcing THEIR values on the rest of society. Its not about tolerance anymore, its about endorsement and domination.
It’s an easy thing to accomplish, without any laws.
All a church has to do is limit their facilities’ use to church members only. No outsiders may use their church or halls for any reason. This is a private ‘club’ in essence and private property, so any one who wishes to use the facilities must first join the church. Most churches I know, protestant anyway, any new member must be approved by the congregation or the deacons and pastor or both...............
Way to defend your beliefs for the $ake of the Almighty $$$
Response: You are correct:
Comment: The left has worked hard and achieved control of a number of important institutions such as business, academia, media, churches etc. They move as a choreographed ballet. They intimidate by getting people fired from their jobs. They will even threaten death. The left can impose enormous fines(see the Oregon Case). The right must ORGANIZE & FIGHT!
I remember helping several new businesses open their businesses back in the late 80's early 90's. I do recall when they joined the Chamber of Commerce and had them at the grand openings.
Most of the people that came with the Chamber of Commerce were fat-n-happy government types, as well as government officials and town VIP's. They had no problem drinking and eating all the freebies and taking any of the free promotional item giveaways.
The problem with that crowd is you never saw them again to come back to the business and spend their own money. I figured out then, it was nothing but an organization of entitled gimmedats. I refused to have anything to do with the chamber of commerce afterwards.

Since the 1970s at least, yes.
