Like Donald said. “I could have told Romney to get on his knees, and he would have. He begged.”

Exactly what Romney is doing now.

Maybe that’s what this is about.

I'll reserve judgment on the goings-on between these two men until something concrete comes out of these meetings.

All I can say is that I wish Romney had kept his mouth shut earlier this year. I never liked him as a political figure but I always felt that I could trust him in a business deal and I'd never be ashamed of him in public office. His reputation really took a hit after his antics during the primary season.

Excerpt:

The words of praise from Mr. Romney was the closest he’s come to retracting his sharp criticism during the campaign, which included calling Mr. Trump a “fraud” and a “phony” who was reckless and unfit for office and who would endanger America and the world.

“He did something I tried to do and was unsuccessful in. He won the general election and he continues with a message of inclusion and bringing people together and his vision is something which obviously connected with the American people in a very powerful way,” said Mr. Romney.

“I think you’re going to see America continue to lead the world in this century. And what I’ve seen through these discussions I’ve had with President-elect Trump, as well as what we’ve seen in his speech the night of his victory, as well as the people he’s selected as part of his transition, all of those things combined give me increasing hope that President-elect Trump is the very man who can lead us to that better future,” he said.

Watching that statement I can’t imagine that he will be SOS. He struggles to be complimentary of the President-Elect. The biggest indicator that he didn’t work Make America Great Again into his statement. That’s the sense I got, I’ll be surprised if he is the SOS. We’ll see

I am certain that Trump or his people call ahead to see if there are any reporters present. If he wishes to be seen and reported on via cell phone, then he will go.

I am resigned that this is a trumpers get on board....Romney is going to be SOS signal...or some post. But probably SOS.

People are in a tizzy on Twitter that he dared to go to one of his places which means free advertising for his brand.

Trump told him he was going to convert to Mormon, and would build a Interstellar Trump Tower next to whatever planet Mitt inhabits in the afterlife.

SCOOP: Sec of state auditions aren't over, I'm told. Romney to talk to Trump again tomorrow, as are Petraeus, Giuliani, Corker, Gen. Kelly.

Mitt should have been waiting the table, not sitting with Trump.

People say all kinds of nasty things in campaigns ,... including Trump ... and then once the campaign is over it is like those words never happened. Strange to me but thats how it works. I sense with Trump it is not personal .. it is just business.

I do NOT think Trump is wasting time playing little games with Romney. That’s a game for petty little boys. Trump is the President-elect. Romney is being considered for the SoS job and Trump is checking out his skill sets. I would be surprised if he picked him but I don’t know the key skill sets Trump is looking for. Romney is smart, smooth and diplomatic and knows how to shake up companies so I am not surprised he is being considered. We will see soon enough.

Got to admire the tenacity of a man like Romney, who can get humiliated publicly and repeatedly and still keep coming back for more, like a dog who doesn’t flee his master even after an 8-hour ride on top of the station wagon.

If Trump picks Mitt, then it has much to do with securing votes for the next presidential election, as in for whatever a Mitt endorsement can bring to the table.
