Doesn’t look good. Early reports are only 6 survivors. Looks like it flew into a mountain. RIP.

Reminds me of the soccer team whose plan crashed high in the Andes back in the early 70’s. There were survivors in that one too.

It was a Uruguayan Rugby team. The subject of the Book and subsequent movie, “Alive.”

Which was precisely the first thing that came to my mind.

"Alive" is one of the most fascinating books I've ever read.

It's amazing that *anyone* ended up surviving.

They were on the mountain so long that rescue planes simply gave up searching.

The survivors finally realized that nobody would EVER come, and made one last ditch effort to hike to freedom.

You read this heart-wrenching story of three volunteers struggling to get to the top of their mountain, and look all around and realizing that their mountain was but ONE mountain in a sea of hundreds of other mountains.

A real page turner!

Have seen the movie yet have not yet read the Alive book.
Hopefully there was *some* sort of good luck for a handful of passengers and crew. :-(

In the last hour this site has a lot of recent tweets — in Spanish. There is a printed report. Talking of survivors.

Bogota is a very challenging airport with mountains around and high elevation.

That was in one of those Fairchild puddle jumpers. Pilot made a navigation error.
