I've come to detest that phrase. Some leftist propagandist came up with it, and it's been on the lips of every Democrat since then, usually to defend some policy (e.g., gay marriage) which is decidedly NOT who we've been for most of our history.

Lying about age is a common immigrant ploy....a trick to slither into the US, get on the gravy train, and do their dirty deeds.

After the Muslim Boston bombing, Massachusetts taxpayers footing their bills were understandably upset: Adult illegals, trucked into their state from the border, were posing as "unaccompanied alien children," and were attempting to enroll in MA public high schools.

School policy is to check w/ family----who confirmed at least one HS enrollee was a 35-year old adult.
