"You may potentially have the state electoral votes at stake if it doesn't get done by then," Haas said.

A lawyer with Stein's campaign has said she wants the recount done by hand.

Could the strategy be to deny Trump the Wisconsin Electoral votes by making sure a recount cannot be done in time for the Electoral College vote? Wanting the recount done by hand means they WANT it to take a long time.

Probably her strategy for all states she is contending.

I pray they deny her requests.

Doing Hilly’s dirty deeds, isn’t she?

If Wisconsin can't get their act together by the certification deadline for the Electoral College, then their electoral votes simply wouldn't count.

Wisconsin has a Republican governor and legislature, so don't expect any of this to make a difference.

No recount, period! Anyone who loses in future would want a recount. Trump won, Hillary lost. The end of story

Still scratchin my head over all this....
With 306 electoral votes, he still wins(280) even if he loses Mich(16) & Wisc(10).

They also need PA(20) and they wont get it. PA is a ridiculous state to recount....no vote trail.

No, just the opposite. It will be the Bush v. Gore ruling, which is, if you can’t get it done in time, no recount.

This is all just meaningless crap. There will be no recount, Trump will be certified by the Electoral College, and the rest is just Stein engaging in verbal mastications.

All this panic & worry over something that will never happen. What a waste of energy & server use.

Jill Stein is quite the piece of work isn’t she? Perhaps she’s a little guilty that she stole some votes away from the Hildebeast?

Kloppenburg Declares Victory in Wisconsin Supreme Court Race

This was with enough precincts still outstanding to overtake the margin, and I believe she actually fell back behind while she was giving this 'victory' press conference.

I have another question:

Remember when Bush/Gore happened, there was no appointing cabinet picks as there are in President Elect Trump’s position, so that tells me that all this ‘vote counting’ is just that CRAP...

It’s over. Trump won. He doesn’t need WI. And the chances of the result being overturned in WI are slim to none and slim just left town.

We don't know just yet if Jill Stein has standing to have a vote recount in an election in which no possible recount can determine that she was the winner in ANY of these three States. The obvious intent is to deny the electoral votes to Trump to the benefit of Clinton. I tend to think that the rules of having a recount are put in place to prevent frivolous recounts, otherwise we could never have finality in any given election for months after the votes. Also, one premise of demanding a recount is because of the suspicion of "hacking." Freeper Sooth2222 posted this, Post #36:

"Good question. This is looking in some of the very least likely places to find vote fraud. Wisconsin and Michigan use paper ballots. Pennsylvania uses a combination of paper ballots and Carter-era voting machines. There is 0 (zero) opportunity for hacking. Philly is always a cauldron of fraud but a recount won't find 57,000 votes. Even if it did, Wisconsin and Michigan use paper ballots."

Scientists Find "Persuasive Evidence" Of Vote Hacking, Demand Clinton Recount In 3 States

So to carry the logic further, these Scientists are, in essence, saying that paper ballots in Wisconsin and Michigan were "hacked." While this scenario doesn't exactly mirror my tagline, it's more of a case that those who invent absurdities, and get others to act upon those absurdities, need to be institutionalized.

Could the strategy be to deny Trump the Wisconsin Electoral votes by making sure a recount cannot be done in time for the Electoral College vote?

Recall that in 2000, when SCOTUS handed down their decision on Gore vs Bush, the Florida legislature was preparing to vote on to whom the state's electoral votes would be assigned.

The Constitution specifies a firm date for the vote count to be completed and for the electors to cast their votes. If, or any reason, the state's popular vote cannot be certified by the date certain, the state legislature is obligated to step in and preempt the process.

Accordingly, if Stein's re-count cannot be completed by the date specified, the Wisconsin legislature must hold a vote and advise the electors of their choice. Given that both houses of the Wisconsin legislature are controlled by Republicans, their choice would be Trump.

A hurried up recount = more fraud and/or miscount.
