In Blue California, Democrats On Verge Of Regaining Supermajorities
Breitbart ^ | November 24, 2016 | Jon Fleischman

Posted on 11/25/2016 6:28:02 AM PST by C19fan

California continues to cement its place as a national outlier, with Hillary Clinton clobbering Donald Trump by nearly 30 points as the last ballots are counted. Now, California Democrats looked to have gained a supermajority in the state legislature as well. It appeared in the days following the election that Democrats had picked up enough seats in the California State Assembly regain the two-thirds supermajority that they had lost in 2014, but that Republicans had held on to enough seats to block a supermajority for Democrats in the State Senate.

I am all in favor of the Democrats gaining supermajority status in CA, which means they can pass budgets incl tax increases without needing GOP votes. That way they can do all the taxing and spending they want and serve as a negative example to the rest of the country.

The GOP tends to moderate the folly. Sometimes fools need to get their desired folly good and hard, before, ah! it dawns on them.

If they ain’t gonna secede, then they are going to be forced to play along with the Federal rules.

The federal government should make clear that it will not bail out any state that spends itself into insurmountable debt. That, along with cutting funding to sanctuary cities, should have an impact.

After all, socialism only works until you run out of other people’s money. Those two actions mentioned above would hasten that fail point.

I am a native Californian; I would love to return to the state when I retire. But lunatics have taken it over. Unless it fixes its profound dysfunction soon, I will retire someplace else.

California where the CalExit movement is afoot. By all means, leave. They don’t need us. That means that they won’t mind if we keep all the water they steal from their neighboring states.

Ok, and states should do the same to the Feds.

The old New York Daily News headline “Ford to New York:Drop Dead” just sprang to memory.

Would love to see “Trump to California:Drop Dead.”

Before we gift Mexico with one of our large, beautiful states, let’s do this. Let’s round up every single illegal and repatriate them. Allow six months to a year for the dust to settle. Then re-poll the legal residents, and find out if they really want to live under the fist of the drug cartels that terrorize Mexico.

I'm not sure how that would work. But it would be great to see the federal government held accountable for the way it misspends taxpayer money.

I think Trump is on the right path, since he said the other day that for every new regulation made, he wants to see two old regulations scrapped. That one sentence was buried in his Thanksgiving address (it's in his Twitter), but it may be the most brilliant thing I've ever heard him say. Certainly, no politician has ever said anything so meaningful.

The commie states cannot make it without taxpayers funding. They are leaching off taxpayers to survive. This must come to an end! No more funding for socialism, the U.S. is broke.

My dad, some 40-50 years ago, would talk about how the States should collect all taxes, spend what they need, then and ONLY then, forward tax monies to the Federal Government.

Makes PERFECT sense.

Never mind states; the municipalities with huge Welfarian populations that are seeking to augment their dying areas with trafficked foreigners are in the same boat. The children of our welfare populations, along with those of many immigrants (legal or illegal), are completely funded by taxpayers across the country.

But wait a minute....I thought if Republicans advocate a sensible, moderate agenda, they’d always win?

I mean seriously, they accommodated the Dems at every turn and was nice to the media...
