While speaking with the New York Times, President-elect Donald Trump said that he received a call from Apple’s Tim Cook on Monday in which he pushed the CEO about bringing manufacturing jobs back to the United States.

“I got a call from Tim Cook at Apple, and I said, ‘Tim, you know one of the things that will be a real achievement for me is when I get Apple to build a big plant in the United States, or many big plants in the United States, where instead of going to China, and going to Vietnam, and going to the places that you go to, you’re making your product right here.’

Trump should act presidential and not be seek as going on bended knee to Apple whose officers and employees were anti-Trump to the hilt. Time to play carrot and stick.

I know everybody’s cheering, but where Apple manufactures is NONE of the feds or Trump’s as a fed now, constitutional business.

Quit cheering for the wrong thing (unconstitutional federal acts which by definition is tyranny) being done by the people you like because sooner or later the wrong thing will be done by the people who don’t like you and will bite you in the arse.

Making America Great Again is about restoring America as a Free Constitutional Republic and THAT means reinstating the Constitution as the law of the land against the mostly unconstitutional feds.

And oh BTW, the feds are the CAUSE of businesses fleeing America with their suffocating taxes, and unconstitutional minimum wage, regulations, and union protection. Get the feds and their tyranny OUT of interfering with our economy and business will soon be humming once again like it used to before the feds got into the act.

"the feds are the CAUSE of businesses fleeing America with their suffocating taxes"

i think the tax cuts he's proposing are an attempt to remedy part of that

Apple already manufactures the Mac Pro line in Austin. Unfortunately, it’s not out of 100% US made components as many components (and this goes for PCs as well) simply are no longer made in the USA.

Approximately 90% of the Mac Pro is made in the USA. If it wasn't it could not say Manufactured in the USA under FTC regulations, but it does say that.

Individual dispensations of government goodies are what protectionism requires. If you can get on the “In” side, you’re golden.

Go for it, Apple!

One of the things Trump is naive on, is the fact that of all the computer companies making products, Apple already has large plants in the USA making components for their products and even building whole computers, and other plants in North Carolina and elsewhere. Here in the SF Bay Area, and in Austin Texas one can find Apple making chips and computers among other things. The same cannot be said for others. And Apple is already moving more production here, long before the message from Trump. With tax cut incentives, it will put Apple in a position for even more growth. At least Trump is focusing on an American company, and not foreign companies like Samsung or Lenovo that liberals champion.

Bias, much? Anyway, Apple does manufacture products here. Try saying that about any other popular computer company. As for environmental regulations, President Trump will hopefully dial them back a lot.

We used to have a lot of manufacturing here in California, until the environmental wackos stepped in. For example, premier surfboards were made here, but fled due to regulations on chemicals and such. Gone, to be made in other countries. Also used to have a lot of steel plants. Gone, to China and elsewhere. Counting on Trump to dial back the EPA and put us on a more level manufacturing level against trading "partners".

US corporate income tax should be 0.00

The cost is always paid mostly by the beleaguered middle-class, either as higher prices or lower wages.

It’s just one of the many ways gov has used to trick taxpayers. Another big stunt is how they make people think that your employer kicks in 1/2 of your SS taxes... that’s bullshit you pay it ALL and always have. (lower wages)

There should be no automatic withholding of taxes... people would $hit a brick when they had to make out a huge check to the gov...lol Get a rope!
