President Obama has long been criticized by national security hawks and a Republican presidential field led by Donald Trump for refusing to say the words “radical Islam” to describe threats posed by terrorist groups such as the Islamic State.
That reluctance won’t be a problem for the president-elect’s national security team, which is flush with nominees who can be expected to employ the term regularly.
The shift will test two deeply opposed worldviews on how to defeat jihadi terrorist groups. Mr. Obama argued that the term “radical Islam” plays into the propaganda narrative of the Islamic State and other U.S. enemies, falsely suggesting that the West was at war with the world’s 1.7 billion Muslims. Mr. Trump, incoming National Security Adviser Michael T. Flynn and many others say the U.S. and its allies can never win the war on terrorism if they fail to honestly call out the enemy by name.
“For eight years, the Obama administration sidestepped the issue of properly defining the threat against the West and its allies and used the nebulous term ‘violent extremists’ to describe our enemies,” said Bill Roggio, an editor of the Long War Journal at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies in Washington.

I am reading Gen. Flynn’s “Field of Fight” and it is apparent
that he knows who the enemy is...and so does Trump.
I’m heading back over to the UAE next week for work. I left just before the election and it will be real interesting to hear first hand the reactions over there to President elect Trump. :)

I’m glad they are finally mentioning it, but “radical Islam” is redundant. There is no other kind of Islam. Even the Turkish poo-bah says that.

I’m so happy Trump will have a National Security Advisor who understands that the threat is inherent in Islam. I would prefer they call it theocratic Islam if they need a modifier to clarify the problem of be diplomatic. “Radical” is another way of perpetuating the “hijacked a peaceful religion” meme.
Note to Flynn and Mattis: that also includes Turkey and the palestinians...

1.Trump stopped Hillary Clinton from becoming president.Hillary was going to flood the USA with new Muslim and other 3rd world immigrants . There are 7 billion people in the world most of them in poverty .Do the math.Most people have no idea the bullet we dodged.Hillary was planning on giving immigrants executive amnesty all of them.
2. Trump stopped TPP. TPP would have destroyed U.S. sovereignty.
3. Hillary welcomed the whole world to move to America starting with Syrian Muslims and the rest of the Muslims (FYI there are close to 1.5 billion Muslims in the world in 57 countries Muslims/Islam took over and genocided the people of those countries who were there previously )
So Trump already saved America from Islam with his Muslim immigration ban , the wall ,etc.
4. Apple, HP , Ford and other companies are surrendering to Trump already saying they will make things in America again.
5. Hillary has been a long time hard core communist . So Trump saved America and your property from this Hillary Clinton = chavez.
6. There were a least 5 ways that Hillary Clinton was going to use to destroy America as I detailed some above which Trump saved us Americans from . Trump saved America,Americans,freedom , and western civilization nothing less than that.
It's amazing that even on this forum many buy the liberal media lies that Trump changed his mind on this or that or that his minion said this or that and Trump has not even had power yet nor taken any actions and the things I say above Trump has confirmed in the direct messages I saw on youtube from President elect Trump..
And all of you under Hillary would even have your life , your property your freedom in jeopardy under Hillary and you want to doubt Trump? you must be never Trumpers or liberals/democrats(I'm only saying this to those criticizing Trump not the great pro-Trump people here ).
Count your blessings because we dodged the Hillary bullet, the most evil creature that I can think of.
