Colleges across the country are preparing students for encounters with relatives who might hold different opinions as they depart from their academic bubbles for the Thanksgiving holiday.
At the College of William and Mary, for instance, students were invited to attend a Thanksgiving Toolkit event where they would learn how to handle politically-motivated family conflict that could erupt over the dinner table.

My advice to any snowflakes who come to my dinner table is shut up and eat.
I flipped to NPR today. Instead of talking about ways to bring up politics, or how great ObamaCare really is, this year they offered strategies to change the subject to a non political discussion. Hysterical since it has been a Thanksgiving tradition for them to advocate ruining the holiday by forcing political discussions on unwilling family members.
Thanksgiving dinner tradition - everyone around the table names something they are thankful for:
“I am thankful that a real American will be president again.”
“I am thankful that the evil witch lost and will no longer be a part of our lives.”
“I am thankful that the rule of law will be restored and all these illegals will be deported.”
“I am thankful that we will finally be free of Obamacare.”
“I am thankful that coal jobs and manufacturing are coming back.”
. . .

Buckley must be turning over now that we’ve reached a point where liberals no longer claim to want to give a hearing to other views.
Our Thanksgiving day is about 50-60 relatives/in-laws. If a snowflake shows up, consider me napalm.
Send your kids to Hillsdale College and you won’t need to worry about them taking your sweet, Christian child and sending back a secular radical Marxist.
I’m hoping for a lively exchange with 20-something nieces and nephews this Thanksgiving. Should be a real hoot.
For all you who are having these “snowflakes” at your home, have a “safe space” for them with plenty of play-dough, pacifiers, safety pins, and participation trophies.
Simple solution.
Tell the kids if they show up and make an ass of themselves, then any help they were getting is cut off.
What happened to the old rule about never discussing politics, religion or health matters at social gatherings?
...you are the closed-minded, pushy, loudmouth jerk at Thanksgiving dinner!
Hillary and Obama’s offspring.
Makes me wonder how many incidents of actual fisticuffs will occur.
Still active at our Thanksgiving table. We'd kill one another otherwise.
From a linked article, in the CR article: “ we live in a resilient nation that will eventually and inevitably find its way forward again.
Godd@mn I’m so sick of their condescending bullshit garbage. I don’t know which is the worse party - Democrats or College Professors.
They try to speak up at my place....out the door they go.
