Why Pardoning Hillary Would Be Wrong
Daily Caller ^ | November 21, 2016 | Blaine Winship

...

The calls from various pundits for Mr. Trump to let bygones be bygones, by forgoing an independent prosecutor and instead giving Mrs. Clinton a pardon, are conveying entirely the wrong message. Of course, we all are exhausted by the recent campaign cycle, and we'd appreciate a break from the seemingly endless acrimony. But the Clintons' wrongs were more than misguided political decisions; they constitute serious crimes, including felonies that do not require proof of criminal intent (despite the legally incompetent assertions of FBI Director Comey to the contrary). Indeed, if a grand jury investigation were opened, the misuse of classified information that by itself merits prosecution likely would be eclipsed by the Clinton Foundation’s shenanigans, which could warrant criminal and civil RICO actions possibly resulting in lengthy prison time and the forfeiture of all ill-gotten gains—because that’s how the rule of law works.

If we want to show our children, our immigrants, and the rest of the world that we really mean it when we say that no one in America is above the law, here is our chance. And it couldn’t come at a better time.

Try her, find her guilty, then we can talk clemency.

Pardoning Hilary would be proof that the Clinton’s are and have been above the law. They have committed flagrant violations of the law. They are and have been responsible for too many deaths to walk. The FBI should have the multiple cases completely wrapped and ready for presentation to Sessions on the day Donald is sworn into office.

It’s wrong, so Obama may likely do it!

For what? Farting?

She hasn’t been charged with anything.

If O’bama pardons Hitlery, Trump’s Justice Dept. should pursue Obama. There’s enough there, for sure.

That’s what I keep wondering. How or why would you pardon someone that hasn’t been charged with anything?

People may be dead because of her schemes. How many covert ops were compromised? How many operators did we lose? Trusted informants? We already know about the Iranian scientist.

How many hostages didn’t get rescued because their locations were compromised?

But, we’re supposed to just blithely look the other way in the interest of making a “fresh start “?

The list of Clinton crimes is long. We may never know the full extent of the damage done. Where is that missing six billion anyway?

Letting the Clintons off the hook whether it’s done by Obama or Trump is not something I could ever forgive.

The idea is that, in the Clinton and in the Obama administrations, Hillary has been instrumental in the degradation of respect for the rule of law in the US. How have we fallen, from a country with such little respect for Nixon, who is not even known for sure to have been behind Watergate, to a country which could not convict Bill of doing what Bill always does, and was guilty of in the impeachment case - and which could elect and reelect “like your doctor, keep your doctor” Obama, while Obama was enabling the scandal which was the Hillary Clinton tenure as Secretary of State???

The only extenuating issue may end up being that Trump needs permission from Congress to disengage from his business/overseas interests in accordance with

Article 1 Section 9:
No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title,of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state
Of course Trump has legitimate business dealings with foreign governments, contracted while the idea of a Trump presidency was not even the joke it was considered a year and a half ago - when Ann Coulter was asked who would get the Republican nomination, and she replied, “Of the seventeen declared candidates right now? Donald Trump.” And that brought down the house in laughter. The Constitution forbids Trump from accepting payments for foreign governments after he takes office, unless Congress authorizes it. If necessary Trump could hold the Clinton Foundation over the Democrats’ heads in order to get their cooperation in obtaining that approval from Congress. That should not, of rights, be necessary - but it’s Democrats we’re talking about here . . .

Hillary and Bill should be offered the usual plea bargain for a corrupt officials: a detailed guilty plea, with cooperation and testimony against associates, along with a substantial fine, disgorgement of illegal gains, and at least a year or two of jail time — humiliating and painful, but far less than the maximum. Ideally, the Clintons can then be used to unravel and document their criminal schemes and to prosecute their criminal associates. If of a generous disposition, Trump could then pardon the jail time for the Clintons if they otherwise perform under the plea deal.

I really think that deciding factor will be,
how much dirt does Hillary have on Obama.

If Obama pardons Hillary,
his explanation will be...
to prevent unjust prosecution of Hillary.

I like that.

Hillary sings like a canary, in exchange for clemency for HER and BILL only!

Trump agrees, and goes after all of the Clinton cohorts.

People like Soros wouldn't like to end up in prison.

The Clintons would be looking over their shoulders for the rest of their lives.

They've made too many deals with some VERY dangerous and powerful people.

Way worse people than the Mob.

Smarter Democrats would realize that taking the Clintons and their crew out of Democratic Party politics would benefit the party by removing the cause of much damage.
