If you want to see what America will look like if universities get to remodel it, have a look at what higher education looks like.
"We investigate the voter registration of faculty at 40 leading U.S. universities in the fields of Economics, History, Journalism/Communications, Law, and Psychology," Mitchell Langbert, Anthony J. Quain, and Daniel B. Klein wrote last month in an article which appeared in Econ Journal Watch. "We looked up 7,243 professors and found 3,623 to be registered Democratic and 314 Republican, for an overall D:R ratio of 11.5:1."
"The D:R ratios for the five fields were: Economics 4.5:1, History 33.5:1, Journalism/Communications 20.0:1, Law 8.6:1, and Psychology 17.4:1." That's right, conservatives and Republicans will find themselves less outnumbered in law school than they will in history and journalism.
And it is going to get worse. "The results indicate that D:R ratios have increased since 2004, and the age profile suggests that in the future they will be even higher," Langbert, Quain and Klein write. Langbert is a professor of Business at Brooklyn College, Klein is an economist at George Mason University and Quain works in the private sector on health care. "People interested in ideological diversity or concerned about the errors of leftist outlooks—including students, parents, donors, and taxpayers—might find our results deeply troubling," they note.
Indeed. It us why the fields mentioned are no longer considered to be academically demanding subjects.
They used to be respectable. No longer.

Perhaps all federal funding should cease immediately. Universities are “literally” Hitler.
Interesting that of the 7,243 faculty they looked at, only 3,937 were registered to any party. My guess is that some of those who haven’t registered are Republicans, but are afraid to admit it publicly as there will be backlash.
They are no longer “Universities”. Today our “educational” institutions have become INDOCTRINARIUMS.

Hmm. I wonder what the numbers would look like if we checked a bunch of medical and engineering professors? I would hazard a guess that we’re down to 2:1 or 3:1 ratios.
The History Department is especially alarming at 35 to 1. These are the ones who are supposed to be the most dispassionate.

I am curious about the D:R ration in Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics at the most elite schools. What are those ratios at the tops schools - MIT and Caltech? I’d guess a whole lot more R than in the soft fields where facts don’t matter.

Diversity is our strength.
My view on Pell grants is that (1) it is immoral to give my tax dollars to anyone majoring in the non-employable fields, such as gender/women/diversity-studies and the like), where the money I earned will be wasted, and (2) it is unnecessary to give my tax dollars to students majoring in math/science/technology/engineering/nursing and other fields where employment is a guarantee for those who learn, since they don't need stolen money. Federal grants to college students are always immoral.
