The Conservative Tree House ^ | Nov 16, 2016 | Sundance

Posted on 11/16/2016 11:46:44 AM PST by HarleyLady27

A report from Fox News implies President-Elect Donald Trump is considering Texas Senator Ted Cruz for the position of Attorney General. –STORY HERE–

Specifically because of his history, it would NOT be surprising to find out that it was Ted Cruz himself, not Donald Trump, who requested the meeting and asked for the job.

Kris Kobach?! How can you back that guy?! He’s a complete moron with no accomplishments whatsoever:

Kobach graduated from Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, Kansas in 1984. Four years later, he earned his bachelor of arts degree in Government from Harvard University, graduating first in his class in that department with summa cum laude[citation needed]. He was awarded a Marshall Scholarship, which allowed him to study politics at Oxford University and earn a Master of Arts degree in 1990 and a Ph.D. in 1992. He then attended Yale Law School, where he earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1995[1][3] and was an editor of the Yale Law Journal. During this time, he published two books: The Referendum: Direct Democracy in Switzerland (Dartmouth, 1994), and Political Capital: The Motives, Tactics, and Goals of Politicized Businesses in South Africa (University Press of America, 1990).[1]

PS. Holy crap is this guy sharp!

SG would be a demotion.

He’d be good at it. But his ego would burst the walls of his office.

I’m not comfortable with Cruz for SCOTUS. Aside from his own flaws, I’m concerned about his wife’s stability and connections, which to me undermine his ability to remain independent as a Justice.

Ye3s a parent can pass citizenship on to a child born abroad if they apply for recognition. That child may be a citizen, but is not a natural born citizen,
Naturally a citizen because there is no possibility of being anything else and no law is required for that citizenship.

When did Cruz or his parents apply for recognition?
There must be records, oh, that’s right, he had them sealed.

Highly doubtful.

Cruz did not appear to have a spring in his step when departing Trump Tower.

May be, simply, that Cruz turned down being among candidates for Supreme Court, in this NYC meeting.

Really doubtful TRUMP puts this POS anywhere near a microphone where he could create a drama per day.

I have a good friend who lives in Romania. He is from Michigan. He and his Romanian wife have three children. The first was born here (US Citizen father, Romanian mother), no naturalization needed. The other two children were both born in Romania (same conditions), no naturalization needed. None of the three children have to be naturalized. They were and are US citizens at birth.

Now, Obama was born to a British citizen and a US underage girl (age of majority in 1961 was 21). Specific laws on the books at the time of his birth (under age, not living in US number of years required under the law), precluded his mother passing on her US citizenship to Obama.

Cruz was born to a US citizen mother, and a Cuban father. Under the law at that time his mother passed on her citizenship to Cruz. No naturalization needed.

You can argue Natural Born Citizen, but you cannot deny his is a US citizen, no matter how much you dislike him.

“When did Cruz or his parents apply for recognition?”

I don’t know, why don’t you ask him?

It’s obviously been done, or he wouldn’t even be able to hold a US passport, which he does.

Meh, “natural born citizen” is a term relevant only for the Presidency, and nothing else, certainly not for cabinet posts, which have no citizenship requirements at all. Cruz could be the Prime Minister of Canada and still hold a cabinet post (though he probably wouldn’t get through Senate confirmation!).

I agree. And I think Cruz would make a great Scalia replacement. Cruz isn’t on Trump’s SCOTUS list and I wonder about that. Although Trump may also be waiting on the next SCOTUS vacancy as I do think Cruz can be counted on to be a bulldog about pushing a conservative agenda through the Senate. If he doesn’t disappoint me again.

I must admit, although a Cruz supporter in the primary, when Justice Scalia passed away my first thought of a replacement was Ted Cruz. When it became obvious Trump would be the nominee, I was hoping for that but thought he was out of contention due to his behaviour at the convention. Hopefully it will happen at some point.

Boy, your right about that. Rick Perry sold Texas out to Moslems, especially the schools in places like Houston and Irving area. He is a real trick.
He needs to retire period.

I was under the impression candidates for Trump would not have lobbyist ties. It’ll be difficult for any elected member to be lobbyist free.

“I’m left to conclude that he either hates being a Senator or he thinks his days are numbered.”

I think his fellow Senators hate Cruz being a Senator. I’m sure most are praying Cruz gets offered some position he finds acceptable, just to get him off of the Senate floor. He’s not a fav there, for sure.

Well Harley ,I may be wrong, as usual, but I will not lack logic, only errant smart speculation. The wisdom is Cruz SCOTUS. Trump is over whelmed now— I am over whelmed . I need tickets to the inaugural ball for my wife and I — can you help. My congress person sucks RINO juice. I am an old man. I am hoping for my bad ass boys to body guard. They are thinking about it, if I pay. One has a plane. God Bless you Harley!! We WIN THIS f’VVcker!! You were so great. I know!!

Scare quotes are exactly right. If you think people who broke the law coming here and/or remaining here should not be here, you’re a “hardliner”. Today, adherence to the rule of law is extreme.

Thanks, little jeremiah.

No president elect that I can remember has been this diligent or organized this early after an election to get his people in order. This is just more piling on by the press.

It was Dec. 1st before Obama named Hillary as Sec. of State!
