How the Tea Party helped Trump win the election
Fox News ^ | 11/12/2016 | Jenny Beth Martin

Now that the American people have hired Donald Trump and the Republicans to right the ship of state, it's time to get to work Trump’s stunning win on Election Night defied the pollsters’ expectations, conventional wisdom about how campaigns must be run, and even the Washington Establishment’s narrative about what it is, exactly, that American voters want.

That last point is of particular interest to Tea Party conservatives. We have long argued that the Washington Establishment is disconnected from (and sometimes simply disinterested in) the issues that are most pressing to American voters.

Here's Jenny Beth Martin on Trump: --------- Donald Trump loves himself first, last and everywhere in between. He loves himself more than our country, he loves himself more than the constitution. He doesn’t love you, me, and he doesn’t love the Tea Party. Donald Trump has no business thinking he’s Tea Party and every Tea Party person who truly loves the constitution should take that into account when you’re casting your vote. ------ Double Dealin' Donald Trump has revealed himself as a complete hypocrite who wants to make Washington lobbyists great again. He presents himself as an outsider and has said 'I don't want lobbyists. I don't want special interests,' but now he has done a complete 180, sucking up to long time Washington lobbyists and entrusting them with his campaign.

First, [Trump] hired super lobbyist Paul Manafort to run his delegate operation and then turned over the entire campaign to him. Manafort ran the Republican convention for Bob Dole 20 years ago! Are you serious? Bob Dole? ----- Is Donald Trump a limited government constitutional conservative and does he share the values of the limited government constitutional conservatives of the Tea Party movement?

Just as Donald Trump often appears unfamiliar with the Bible and the principles of Biblical living, so he often appears to be unfamiliar, even contemptuous of Constitutional principles and the idea that the Constitution is the law that governs government.

Sounds like propaganda to me. The polls were off as a normal liberal trick to try to get non liberals to not vote and to encourage libretards to vote. The GOOP is still misreading the Tea Party. I am ready to join a new party, never the Demonicrats, and probably not GOOP. Give me an American Party not globalists, a God based party with ethics and standards.

Miss Jenny needs to buy a clue.

The original TEA Party were the ones who were across party lines enraged about the housing bail out and the catastrophe that hit our economy.

You have individuals like Jenny that over time morphed that economic outrage and moved in the Christian Right to take the credit of the original movement and throw their weight around as if they gave TRUMP all his bright ideas.

Not true.

If the Christian Right had gotten their way, this Miss Jenny crowd, Donald TRUMP would be back in NYC and that split tongued Theodore Cruz would be ensconced as the nominee and would have lost the Rust belt.

Jenny Baby is muscling for cameras and clout and is the exact type that will cause the bipartisan election of TRUMP to the presidency a LOT of trouble.

Beware of who is going to try to ride TRUMP’s coat tails and inflate and exaggerate their own importance as they attempt to SPEAK FOR YOU.

TRUMP is his own man. He remains secular and not a poodle of the silly Right who have run off more than they have brought in to their churches. The churches all need a scrubbing of their own, if you ask me.

Go away, Jen Jen.

Mr. Trump had the support of a lot of Evangelicals and pro-life Catholics.

Did he also draw secular voters tired of PC? Sure. But if you wanted an Atheist as president I think we have done of those right now.

<< “ But if you wanted an Atheist as president I think we have done of those right now. “ ..

Those who know me realize I am not in to atheistic presidents. OTOH, we learned on FR that their are plenty of totalitarian Christians who despised TRUMP because he wasn’t patting the Christian Right on their pointy little heads, or trying ride them all the way to the nomination.

Trump gave his little testimony and it was apparent that he seemed to hold in great affection his experience at the feet of Norman Vincent Peale, whose sermons he recalled he did not want to leave. His mother was an engaged Christian and had this hyper active kid who was a lot of trouble to her, but he held his mother’s faith in high esteem.

But did he sing the Psalms at every stop in the South just to win their vote? Far from it. He left that squirmy Cruz to do the snake handling and I am reminded that no one recalls Cruz being engaged in the faith, ever, or regularly attending church, that is not until this primary race for the nomination.

That was the only point I was trying to make.

There is a big difference between the self-appointed big shot leaders of various TP organization (some okay, some not) and the members, We the People.

I think most TP identity people voted for President-Elect Trump.

He spoke to them very well. (Phuque some of the leaders)

Cruz also campaigned for him and Trump supported Cruz’ efforts to block the Internet giveaway.

Kasich played to secular/moderate voters and wrote in McCain.

Sorry.

Cruz campaigned for Cruz, and never mentioned Trump in his speech.

Cruz supports Cruz, and only vicariously did he use the word “Trump”, but as an adjective.. saying when asked if he endorsed Trump, that he was “..flying in a Trump plane”.

He is shifty. TEXAS looms and he needs cameras to redeem his sorry butt, for his re-election.

The Tea Party was a uniting of Americans and not led by any one person. Ms Martin deludes herself.

I post for TEXAS. Cruz is in prep to run for re-election. I want his deeds REMEMBERED. That is why I post. When it applies, I recall Cruz to the scene.

Because he smarmied the Christian Right (like jelly on toast) he was able to win, in the first place. Turned out we despised Dewhurst, only to wonder what difference Cruz brought to the US Senate than Dewhurst.

I supported him. I voted for him. I am not against “liking Christians”. I “are” one!

However, we were worked over by Cruz. He will not have it so easy this time, if we can get a strong opponent, like Michael McCaul or Rick Perry.

Cruz wants us to forget. I plan to Never Forget.
