Marine Le Pen said the election of Donald Trump had sent shockwaves to European elites.
She told Andrew Marr the rise of nationalism in the West meant Europe needed to look after its own citizens and stop "taking in the poverty of the world".
Ms Le Pen told the BBC: "We are not going to welcome any more people. Stop, we are full up!"

May, LePen, Netanyahu and Trump would be a very interesting foursome in the war against globalism and Islam.
She is absolutely right. France will become black, poor and Muslim if this goes on.
Canada should take them all, they have vast wilderness that needs to be tamed.
As Gunny Ermey once famously said: “Well, no shit!”
How dumb do the Muslims think we are to invite an invading army onto outer own shores? Wait, don’t answer that. Half of the idiots over here put the head of ISIS and his staff into office over here...
Muslims don’t ‘tame wildernesses’ - they paralyze and enslave civilized nations.
Putin may want a piece of that action.
Bravo LePen !!!
“Canada should take them all, they have vast wilderness that needs to be tamed.”
Well, having spent some time in Australia, I can tell you Australia ain’t nowhere near full up. A little factoid; over 90% of Aussies live within 100 miles of the Pacific rim. It’s a continent about two thirds the size of the U.S. With only about 28M people as I recall. So, there are vast regions of virtually empty land. These refugees are from the Middle East, just dump the out in Western Australia and wish them good luck mates, lol!
Then we would have to build a wall on the northern border.
We need real allies.
Go LePen!
The last three, absolutely. I'm not so sure about Theresa May. She's been very wobbly on Islamic immigration and terrorism. She's the one who banned Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer from entering Britain: because they told the truth about Islamic violence.
"In an interview Sunday with Frances BFMTV station, Le Pen, who heads the third-largest party in France and has been making inroads with voters amid a string of devastating terror attacks over the past two years, said that if elected, she would extend a 2004 law banning religious symbols in schools to all public spaces."
"Should she be elected France's next President, Le Pen said she would ban religious symbols in all government buildings, state schools and public places."
"Marine Le Pen, the far-right leader in France, has promised to ban all religious clothing including Christian symbols, in a bid to defeat radical Islam.
The National Front chief enjoyed a surge in polls after recent terror attacks and is expected to come top or second in the first round of presidential voting in April.
She said on Sunday that Jews and Christians would have to accept the ban in order to "fight the advance of political Islam"."
Sounds a tad extreme, if you will.
Currently that group is 38% of the birth rate in the urban areas of France.
Take the Paris Metro. It feels like being in Bangladesh.
She can advocate burning witch’s clothes in the public square for all I care, as long as she advocates the end of Muslim immigration.
You sell your freedom cheap FRiend
There’s plenty of room in Saudi Arabia. Ooddles of it!
Looks like Marine can’t recognize the difference between peaceful religions and a world-wide, terrorist-imperialist political movement.
