Donald Trump is seeking quick ways of withdrawing from a global agreement to limit climate change, a source on his transition team said, defying widening international backing for the plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

Since the U.S. President-elect was chosen, governments ranging from China to small island states have reaffirmed support for the 2015 Paris Agreement at 200-nation climate talks running until Nov. 18 in Marrakesh, Morocco.

"Trump, who has called global warming a hoax and has promised to quit the Paris Agreement, was considering ways to bypass a theoretical four-year procedure for leaving the accord, according to the source, who works on Trump's transition team for international energy and climate policy."

It's like Christmas in America.

Trump may turn out to be one of my favorite people of all time if he sees this stuff through. He’s fearless.

It’s obviously a treaty. Treaties have to be ratified by Congress. Obama just signed us up, I’m assuming via EO. Issue an EO countering Obama’s EO. Boom, done.

There are no legally binding climate deals to withdraw from.

Simple - since it is an agreement vs. a pact or treaty all he has to do is say he has decided he is in disagreement and send folks to the U.N. who will make it clear on the U.N. floor - while suggesting other countries to build their new headquarters - like maybe Iran.

Thank God!

Get us completely out of that morass of pseudoscience.

And while you’re at it, fire every climate scientist at NASA and replace them with rocket scientists.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

Step 1: Executive Order to suspend implementation pending additional real-scientific analysis.
Step 2: Send the treaty/agreement to Senate for “approval” with the scientific analysis showing the extreme cost to US economy and de minimus change to “climate change”. Direct the Republicans to vote it down.
Step 3: Send a “I regret to inform you” note to the UN that we are out of this charade.

It is not a binding agreement-congress did not ratify it, so it is little more than a handshake by Obama-I think all pres Trump needs to do is just say sorry, eurotrash, but we’re done getting scammed...

Obama didn’t get the Senate to approve the treaty, so I question its legality anyway. Maybe President Trump should 1) abrogate Obastard’s signing (if that is what he did, and 2) bring it to the Senate for a legitimate vote — and immediate rejection!

There’s nothing to quit- no legally binding treaty was ratified-

“It’s definitively not going to be a treaty... They’re not going to be legally binding reduction targets like Kyoto or something,” Kerry said,

https://www.yahoo.com/news/kerry-says-paris-climate-deal-not-legally-binding-223424662.html?ref=gs

The w2ashington compost stated that if republicans were going to try to defeat the agreement they would need to prove it was a treaty- and the dear leader had no itnention of submitting the agreement to congress for ratification- therefore, no treaty was signed-

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2015/11/30/trick-or-treaty-the-legal-question-hanging-over-the-paris-climate-change-conference/

Not sure why trump doesn’t just come out and say “There’s no legally binding treaty in the climate agreement, therefore we are under no obligation whatsoever to abide by this agreement- I am announcing today that the moment i take office, the agreement is null and void- We will not need 4 years to ‘withdraw’ as we are not bound by any rules set forth in this agreement- While my predecessor may have gone against the wishes of the congress and agreed to this agreement- My administration is not beholden to his decision to do so-”
