Ok, As previously mentioned, and will be aired on the 60 minutes interview, President Trump always agreed that coverage of pre-existing would remain. When you see the interview, you will see that he forcefully states “it will be gone - complete transition - no waiting period”. I take this to mean they have the New plan in-place and will make it either an option to select now and open enrollment for Obamacare will cease by this time next year.

One last item - Everyone refers to Obamacare, etc. as HEALTHCARE - It’s NOT healthcare - IT’s INSURANCE. PERIOD. Having it or not does not change the great level of medical treatment we have in this Great Country.

There are only two forms of health insurance that the government needs to provide, solely because no one else is willing to do so.

The first is catastrophic injury and illness. While some insurers may cover a little of this, very few people can handle an unexpected, but legitimate, half million dollar bill when especially a breadwinner is taken down. It might be best to create a public-private insurance company not paid for, but *underwritten* by the government that does this exclusively.

The other is extended care nursing. America has and needs a lot of this, but it is stupidly expensive and not the best quality. However, of all places, Mexico has good quality extended care at a fraction of the cost, with a very good patient to caregiver and worker ratio.

But how to get skilled, English speaking healthcare workers to this side of the border? By setting up medical enclaves on the border. They are not border crossings, but authorized Mexicans can easily enter and leave the south side, and authorized Americans can easily enter and leave the north side.

This means that patients can get either American or Mexican doctors and nurses, much cheaper medical procedures and pharma, and lots of hands on caregiving at a much lower cost. It can get the best of both worlds.

It would be under Mexican legal rules, so little or no Malpractice litigation or expensive insurance. The pharma would be identical brand name, but from Mexico, so much cheaper.

Mexicans also have a good reputation for caring for the elderly as a family responsibility.

Importantly, this wouldn’t handle the bulk of nursing home care in the US, which would remain here. But it would take a lot of the pressure off, and make it easier and cheaper over time.

I disagree. You draw a line. We don't have kings and part of the problems we have is we don't hold people accountable.

If he or anyone else in the job won't do what they said or is against the Constitution and such, you speak out.

How many times does this need to happen again?

Some states had high risk pools before Obamacare and they worked fine.

35 states did have high risk pools but it's hard to say that they worked fine.

By design enrollment was kept low via high premiums and deductibles, long waiting lists in many states, and by not covering pre-existing conditions for the first 6-12 months of coverage.

Even then, the taxpayers ended up subsidizing the insured because all the pools operated at a deficit.

I'm not attacking the idea but there's a reason they needed the no-medical-underwriting provision in the ACA - high risk pools are expensive and unpopular, and the taxpayers end up paying anyway.

I do resent it when politicians like Tom Price try to blow smoke up everyone's butt by saying they'll create high-risk pools that don't cost the insured more in premiums without also saying that we'll pay for it via higher taxes.

I’m sure when some here heard he might keep a coiuple parts of ObamaCare, they went off the deep end. His porposals make sense and will help smooth the journey to getting rid of ObamaCare. Nothing wrong with ensuring those with pre-existing condition are able to get insurance because at least they get to contribute instead of getting the totally free ride off the other taxpayers. Same with “kids” staying on their parents’ policies for a little longer - they are a group that generally doesn’t need/use a lot of benefits and once again, if they aren’t on a policy, they end up with getting the treatment and then not being able to pay the bill.

“How many times does this need to happen again?”

It’s a good point.

When the fed allows Land owners to build cell towers and connect to landlines and become wholesale cellular providers. When local companies can get satelitte communications at wholesale price and create packages for local customers.
Free Market everything, instead of socialist control by government of licenses.
