Louie Gohmert (TX-01) talked to Fox & Friends and shared his thoughts on Donald Trump's campaign promise to build a wall on the southern border of the U.S. He noted, " “He [President Elect Donald Trump] can get started when he has a good Homeland Security Secretary. It is amazing what you can get Congress to do when you lead and push them in the right direction. It is going to be great to have someone who is actually following the law … we are going to be able to get this done. It’s gonna happen.”

I have been saying this for years along with the fact that the wall ALREADY exists! (trump merely wants to extend it a bit)
The money was already allocated for the wall. The laws are already on the books making it illegal to be here.
All that is needed is the willingness to enforce existing law and willingness to spend already appropriated funds.

Congress defunded it back in 2006, but it is still a law to go build it. A standard triple fence could be built by each border state national Guard in less than a year. That would stop 95 percent of crossovers by land. They could still smuggle them over but they would get caught at the checkpoints.

Texas’ legislative session starts January 10, 2017 and has a Republican majority. We’ll see whether they are ready to support Trump, get rid of Strauss as House leader, refuse to provide any state funding to Texas sanctuary cities, ESL and Arab Immersion classes and start prosecuting employers who don’t use Everify and hire illegals instead of citizens. Made those suggestions to our local Congressman and he commented “You’re kidding”.
He’s right, the money has been available for years and it was simply never implemented.
What the hell does the Homeland Security Secretary have to do with it?
In the spirit of recycling as well as saving money, we can build some of the wall with construction materials salvaged while scrapping the White House garden.
Sheriff Clarke would make a good choice for border control. Or Sheriff Joe Arrpio.

At the age of 84, I was surprised he still decided to run again.
He was doing the great job, even had Obama administration go after him.
