Log Cabin Republicans: We’re In Contact With Trump Transition Team, Will Protect LGBT Rights

In a fundraising email to supporters Thursday night, Log Cabin Republicans President Gregory T. Angelo (above) claimed his group — and only his group — can save the LGBT community from President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump has pledged to repeal all of President Barack Obama’s executive orders, including those protecting LGBT people. He’s vowed to appoint right-wing Supreme Court justices who could at least partially overturn marriage equality and said he’d sign the horrific anti-LGBT “First Amendment Defense Act.”

Both Trump’s transition team and his leaked list of potential cabinet appointees are packed with anti-LGBT extremists in the mold of Vice President-elect Mike Pence. Hate groups including the National Organization for Marriage have already rolled out their agendas for a Trump presidency, and LGBT advocates both in the US and abroad are justifiably terrified. But according to Angelo, everything is under control.

They are going on and on about Mike Pence saying something along the lines of gays needing ‘shock treatment”. I doubt its true.

It’s ridiculous some are afraid of so-called “bedroom police”. Hillary advanced the interests of countries that through gay people off buildings and other ones that murder them whenever they can.

I was unaware that special rights - not enumerated in the Constitution - could be “bestowed” by an executive order. Wow!

Then, Trump could also bestow the rights of, say, bakers, to refuse to bake a cake, or photographer who refused to film a wedding.

not sure. GOProud I believe had many that supported him. Because he actually wanted to prevent radicals from using their religion to shoot up gay people (hint: not christians)

What’s with this “leaked secret list” meme I’ve noticed being pushed in several lib articles. Has anyone ever claimed such lists were secret. I thought it was common knowledge that Trump was assembling a transition team.

You are buying into the MSM propoganda.

Trump will treat gays fairly.

Persecuting gays is so ridiculous. They are Americans with rights.

It is pure stupidity and ignorance to make this a litmus test issue. Let's get the American people on our side first, and focus on other issues like repealing Obamacare, controlling the Supreme Court, lower taxes, less regulation, etc.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. .

LGBT have nothing to fear from Trump. They will have the same rights as every other American.

But then we all know that is what they actually fear. Equality rather then preference.
