While President-elect Donald Trump met with outgoing President Barack Obama, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner was getting his introduction to White House life from chief of staff Denis McDonough.

This could be a sign that Trump is eyeing Kushner to be his chief of staff.

Kushner is marred to Trump's oldest daughter Ivanka, who also played a pivotal role in the billionaire's campaign.

Kushner and Ivanka Trump also are preparing for their first TV interview since Donald Trump's stunning election victory put them even more into the spotlight.

Newt needs to be part of this administration. He would be great as chief of staff.

Many talking heads are saying DJT needs a government veteran to serve as COS but I like the idea of Trump having a person of total trust in that spot. From what I gather, Ivanka and her husband are absolutely brilliant.

Newt said on Hannity the other day he wanted a strategy role being the architect of DJT vision and policies...

No, he would not. He has a habit of going off on absurd tangents. I just hope Trump does not put any treacherous RINOS in place—like Preibus

That WOULD be a great job for Newt. He knows his way around, and he BALANCED THE BUDGET once before

Newt will be Chief of Staff.

Not really sure of Jared's strong points so have to take a wait and see.

Chief of staff is a younger mans job. It takes lots of time and hands on management. Newt’s brain is needed now not every waking hour of his day.

I missed this (work has been hectic), but I pray this is true. Newt is a true visionary who has a great understanding of how our government works. His own Contract for America was a big success in the midst of what many believed to be total gridlock with Clinton as President. He did it despite being told he couldn’t.

This is the perfect role for Newt and the one that many of us wanted him to have.

NO!

Nest needs to ride off into the Global warming sunset.
The only supporters he has left are open or closeted Al Gore supporters.

That list is ENTIRELY speculation...

I think you are going to see a bunch of people that have never been in government before, especially retired CEO’s, in places that have traditionally filled by Pols with their own agendas.

It is already happening. Look at Per Theil and Danny Dimicco.

No. Federal law prohibits family members from holding these positions. He can still be an unpaid advisor but not a paid staffer.

For God sake, what the hell is wrong with you folks?

Have you not been paying attention to Newt screwing us with ill-timed comments over the last 20 years?

I don’t want him anywhere near Trump.

As for him balancing the budget, Trump has more financial knowledge in his little finger than Newt has in his whole family.

Just curious... wouldn’t hiring of the son-in-law run afoul of the federal anti-nepotism statute?

I am pretty sure that Rudy is going to be the AG. If you have noticed in his many interviews he has gravitated repeatedly to the Department of Justice and even made statements using possessive language.

Remember what Rudy was famous for prior to becoming America’s Mayor. It was anti-corruption. It is his passion.
