They’ll never get it. The status quo of the last 40 years, under Democrats and Republicans, has served them and their friends well. (I’m reminded of the MSNBC anchor who, when confronted with the facts of the perpetual recession the bottom 99% has been in since before Bush left office, replied “But everyone I know is doing fine”.).
Michael Moore (unbelievably) said it best:

Here’s the thing. In 2008, if Obama had some smart people around him....he would have selected several simple things to accomplish, and quietly build up momentum and set his eyes on job creation. In eight years, he could have made two dozen wise moves and gotten the middle class in a very positive position. The heath care bill could have been written into 35 pages and easily read, with no hidden tricks. So he would emerge in 2017 with a legacy, that would have stuck with him and been easy for historians to tell this story.
Instead? This is a 1-page legacy list which is mostly all two-star things. There’s nothing for the middle-class to talk about. Other than gays and trannys in the military, there’s virtually nothing else.
These DC MSM idiots need to get outside the district and see the wholesale economic devastation throughout this country.
