Need not only term limits for politicians but term limits for all government employees. Civil service should follow the up or out method of the military. Keep cutting the dead wood.

“Term Limits” for federal employees is not the answer, actually I do not know what the answer is.

What I do know there has been a 180 degree turn around in attitude with the fed employee from lets say the 50’s to now.

In the 50’s, just about all govt employee considered themselves “public servants”, had relatively small wages and the things they bought (desks, trucks etc) were very modest. Example: In the late 60’s they bought the cheapest fords and chevies made. Now days, in both vehicles and office equipment, it’s the best.

Worth ethic of yesteryear was quite good, today many fed employees just sit on their backsides doing little as possible.

With regards to professional employees, such as engineers, they do not hire the best. Many are downright stupid/incompetent. Let’s face it, if a seasoned engineer can make $200 grand on the outside, just why would he settle for 80 - 100 as a fed employee? I personally know one such person, he’s dumb as a fence post.

Back to your subject: Term limits are political. You could have a very good person with a 6 year limit and a very incompetent boss or “good ole boy” system, and not get rehired.
