There are a LOT of FReepers who used to hammer on Gingrich for that PSA he did with Nancy Pelosi. Newt is a solid conservative, not flawless, but solid. Those FReepers owe him an apology.

I question whether Newt could ever work for anyone. He’s too smart.

“If I owned a China shop I’d sell it, because Gingrich, in whatever role Trump gives him, will be a bull,” Sabato said via email. “Gingrich finally got his revenge on the Clintons—and it was total.”

That is funny. Seriously though, we owe great thanks and praise to God for gracing us as a nation with this opportunity to amend our national sins and obey His commandments.

That’s a boring subject compared to a role for Hillary Clinton. She should be made head of the CIA. Frank Abignale agrees.

No, Newt needs to be right there with him dealing with Congress, not flying around the world. That is his strength.

He told Hannity yesterday he didn’t want to be tied down to a formal position, but he would like to be a big picture planner. I think that would be perfect.

So far it looks good.

All the people I have been reading about who are being considered for positions in the Trump administration are solid.

Unlike the Bushes I think he really will keep his word. No more Souters.

Former Georgia congressman Newt Gingrich

Not "Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich"? I bet they wouldn't call Pelosi "congresswoman".

He should’ve been the VP. In fact I’m (pleasantly) surprised that Trump’s campaign recovered from that error. Mostly because Gingrich started working with him anyway.

“I said I want to be the senior planner for the entire government”.

Newt repeated that on the Hannity show the other night. He wants to be able to help Trump implement his policies. Secretary of State is not what he is looking at or any other cabinet position. It is overhauling the government. Newt thinks big.

I had not heard this, but it makes sense:

“I said I want to be the senior planner for the entire federal government, and I want a letter from you that says Newt Gingrich is authorized to go to any program in any department, examine it and report directly to the president,” The Hill, a Washington publication, quoted Gingrich as saying.

Basically, he wants to be Inspector General, which would be a better use of him than Chief of Staff or Secretary of State. That is investigative and analytical think tank type stuff which is right up Newt’s alley. Trump needs someone younger and with more energy for those two cabinet positions. And someone who is more consistently conservative and nationalist than Newt.

There should be a standing order to arrest Gingrich if he gets within 1500 feet of the White House for the next four years.

If there’s anyone who knows how to completely F up a total victory over the Clintons, it’s Gingrich.

Hard to think of a name I’d less like to have influence over the next four years than this owl-worshipping weasel.
