George Mason University is offering a "healing space" gathering for students distraught over President-Elect Donald Trump's victory. The snowflakes unable to cope with Trump's win gathered after Student Body President Nathan Pittman sent an email with the subject header "2016 Post-Election Healing Space" to all Mason students. It said:

Oh,
The poor babies......
:(
George Mason?!!!! Smh
Debatable, but it might have been better to just tell them that Hillary won and they would have gone back to their video games, finishing college without every knowing the difference..
My first presidential vote occurred in 1964 for Goldwater. Believe me I have experienced many elections when I was ‘distraught’ over the result. If these immature college students cannot live in a democratic republic, and cannot accept the results of an election, then maybe they should live in a dictatorship where they are never surprised, and never happy again. I suggest they move to Venezuela, where they will be jailed if they so much as protest in public.
Hope the poor little snowflakes don’t melt in the Indian Summer sun...
*snort*
Our local TV news had a story about an Episcopalian church that had its doors open for “healing prayers” and the following Health segment had the reporter interviewing a local doctor about how people can deal with the election of Donald Trump. I had to turn it off.
Give them each a Snickers and send them to their “safe space” for a few days. They’ll get over it.
Let’s just designate California as the official safe space for all the melting snowflakes who are overwhelmed and deeply distraught over Trump’s victory.
People complain aabout kids from other nations being ahead of our children in math ans science etc. No kidding. Our schools and college are to busy making safe spaces and providing emotion counseling caused by microagressions to have time to actually provide education to the kids!
Misery LOVES company! he he
The Hokie statement is much better:
Statement from President Tim Sands Statement from President Tim Sands November 9, 2016
Dear Member of the Virginia Tech Community,
In interacting with you and our fellow Hokies over the past 24 hours, I have heard the full range of emotions from vindication to shock, from outright fear to enthusiasm. All of these are responses to what has been a rancorous election cycle, one that has no parallels in recent history.
This presidential election season has tested our fortitude, our character as a country, our values, and our commitment to civility. If there was a revelation for me from the year preceding the election, it was that as individuals and as a nation, we failed to listen and we failed to empathize. We talked past each other. Why could we not have pulled aside our neighbor and asked Why are you distressed? Tell me about your history, your values, and your lived experience. What can I do for you?"
As Hokies, we have a commitment to Ut Prosim (That I May Serve) and that commitment requires empathy. You cannot serve those you dont understand. This is much more fundamental than politics. Empathy takes work, time, commitment, and courage.
I ask you to commit to having these difficult conversations as thoroughly and as frequently as your humanity will permit. While your individual contribution may seem small, you will be modeling the only behavior that will lead us forward. #VTUnfinished is a start to these conversations, and I hope you will join me next week as our campus seeks to continue listening, sharing, and learning.
In the spirit of Ut Prosim,
Tim Sands
President
I posted this on another university/college thread....
I work at a small research heavy university in Texas the night of the election, the students, RAs, and some others grouped together for hugs; and to talk about the fear of Pres. Trump rounding up LGBTQIA+ folks and putting them in conversion therapy, Muslims in concentration camps, among other things. Some interesting quotes Ive seen the past day and a half, so I can just give you a view from behind the enemy lines. #AndPeopleWonderWhyIDrink
Want to meet in the Commons in 5 minutes for a group hug?
Im also sitting here in case you want to decompress, talk about important issues (race, gender, class, etc.) or just need a hug.
We dont just have Trump. We have Trump and a Republican house and senate.
If you want to see where this goes, look to the bathroom laws in North Carolina, the sharia battling laws in Oklahoma, the show your papers laws in Arizona, and the economic meltdowns in Kansas and Louisiana.
I am sad. I am scared. I am not surprised.
I am angry.
I am a queer Muslim woman of color. Ive never felt as unsafe in the U.S. as I do now.
Today was tough. A day that was filled with several emotions: shock, anger, disbelief, fear, sadness (repeat cycle of emotions several times). It was a day filled with many emotional conversations with well-educated students, where for many of them, it was their first time voting. Where do we go from here?, What will the next four years look like, especially in terms of all the social equality progress that has been made?. I didnt have the answers to these questions. All I could say is that its important to not lose HOPE in America. Its important that people, including myself, stay involved and dont just show up to VOTE every four years. We need to continue to treat all people with kindness and we cannot look backwards anymore. We need to come together as a country so this election scenario never happens again.
Today a large portion of the the country was in mourning. But tomorrow is a new day and we must move forward and look to the future. Tomorrow needs to be the day America begins to heal. We, as in ALL Americans, need to UNITE to rebuild the scary divide that separates us.
Although I am upset with the outcome, it is clear that our country wants and needs change. Id be lying if I didnt admit that as a woman in the LGBTQ community, Im terrified for my future and I cant help but feel rejected by those Americans who helped elect Trump as our next President.
I will be watching you Mr. Trump, as will every single American. I hope you are able to deliver on your promises to fix and unite US. I have faith in this country and I truly believe #LoveTrumpsHate and that we are #strongertogether
Goodnight America and lets move forward TOGETHER
Make America Great Again ... its sad that, according to the news, the rural uneducated white mans vote is what put Trump on top. Scary that we are back to the white mans vote. Our country has just taken many steps back when it comes to social equality. With that being said, I will never lose HOPE.
Whoa, we almost have a bingo here!

Good, I hope you feel that way for a long time. Enough to at least keep your damned mouth shut, at least.
I don’t personally care WHO you worship. I am a Christian, and invite anyone to read the Bible, and think through what WILL happen in the end times; or when you pass from here and appear at His throne.
I also do not care one whit for what you do in your bedroom - and I do not want to know about it. It’s up to YOU to keep it in your bedroom. When you bring it out into public, then I can be disgusted and scorn you for that behavior - because YOU have made it a public event/spectacle.
Real easy - don’t want to be judged on your private behavior? don’t bring it out to the public.
