I was right. Trump’s triumph has crushed the lefty luvvies,
UK Daily Mail ^ | 11/9/16 | Katie Hopkins

My mother says gloating, like sweating, is unbecoming of a lady. Happily, I have never wished to be one - so I can sweat like a pig on safari and gloat like Kim Kardashian in Rigby & Peller. I was right. Donald Trump won. Not only did he win, he won by a convincing margin - turning America red with patriotic pride and the faces of commentators ever redder as they tried to explain how they had been so spectacularly wrong. The news came as a shock to all those who have failed - yet again - to understand the feelings of regular Americans – people who want to work hard, keep their family safe and secure for the future. Real people. Not the loud voices in wealthy cities. Not the multicultural mafia in the liberal heartland of LA or New York. But in the towns, rural outposts and forgotten homes across the States. As Trump predicted, it was Brexit Times Ten. The people rose up and made their voice heard, leaving Hillary to weep into her pant suit and her campaign team to wonder what on Earth went wrong. You can't blame them for thinking they stood a good chance. Pollsters have demonstrated - once again- why they are an utterly defunct source of information. Reuters gave her a 95 per cent chance of winning this election. Nate Silver downgraded to a 71 per cent chance of success. And the lefty lovies echo-chamber of choice - the Huffington Post said she was a shoe in at 98 per cent. These are people who are supposed to be reflecting back at us how we feel.

... what prize does one win when one wins the popular vote in a presidential election?

You win the booby proze for not reading the instructions that follow "The object of the game is..."

.............No evidence of any vote fraud that would benefit the Trump Train is ever going to be discovered, he won IN SPITE OF repeated dirty tricks by the other side, using the playbook that has served them so well since the days of Uncle Cornpone, good ol’ boy Elbee Jay.
****************
Trump must create and enforce voting rules that eliminate or make cheating very difficult to the point where it won’t be a factor... The states run their own elections... but I see nothing stopping the Federal Elections Commission from setting standards for voting in a federal election... Miami can cheat with touchscreens all they want for local and state offices but for a vote to count for President there must be an audit-able paper trail , high quality photo id and the voter rolls must be purged every year of people that have moved or died.

Nicely written paragraph by someone who seems to understand what’s going on.

And remember John Anderson? He was the "moderate" Republican who was going to peel off all the moderates who couldn't stand Reagan.

Ugh, John Anderson. Sort of a cute little fellow with a boyish mop of hair, and glasses.

People were to proud proclaim their support for him. Though I got the idea they didn't have the slightest idea of anything he stood for. (Perhaps he stood for nothing.)

There's a spoiler type like this who comes along every once in awhile. Cute "Teddy" Roosevelt spoiled the election of the Republican candidate Taft by running himself as the "Bull Moose" party's candidate. Thus TR handed the election to the execrable racist Democrat, Woodrow Wilson.

And, if you would refresh my memory, what prize does one win when one wins the popular vote in a presidential election?

The same kind of prize that a baseball team gets for scoring more total runs than their opponents in the World Series. If those runs are not spread out so as to result in winning four games, it's called:

DEFEAT

So what if they hold on to it.

Popular vote means nothing.

Population of country was significantly different under Reagan.

Observation is moot.

Don’t forget Reagan was Governor of California, which made him a significant political figure, to say the least. Plus, he adhered to the expected forms of speech and behavior, however brash his message may have been.

Trump was a complete maverick, and appeared as a crazy-man to those expecting the usual dumbshow. I don’t think this was by any means a calculated pose, even if it showed an uncanny instinct for public communication.

I found him to be electrifying, and obviously I was not alone.

When you include voter fraud and uncounted overseas absentees, Trump won handily, as did now-disgraced George W. Bush, for that matter.
