House Speaker Greg Stumbo conceded to Republican Larry Brown tonight releasing a statement that read:

“The voters have spoken, so I want to congratulate Larry Brown for his win tonight, and I want to thank the people of the 95th House District for a great career. I hope only the best for the district , my county, my commonwealth and my country.”

Brown is an attorney from Prestonsburg.

You’ll remember Stumbo was the subject of GOP website late in the campaign. The site hit the longtime lawmaker for votes he’s taken in the House of Representatives while also dredging up embarrassing episodes from his personal life.

Stumbo, a Prestonsburg Democrat gained notoriety for pursuing criminal charges against ex-Gov. Ernie Fletcher during his term as attorney general, but on this site, www.realgregstumbo.com, he was referred to as a “deadbeat dad” and a “deadbeat speaker.”

RPK singled out votes by Stumbo that would make permanent the state-based insurance exchange kynect and Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act, against tort reform and a tax reform package passed in 2000.

I think he was the last Democrat in the South to control a state House.

Corrupt crook Speaker Stumpy defeated in his own House seat in KY. I’m presuming the GOP will take enough seats to win there, the last Southern state to finally elect an all-GOP leg.

Down here, the GOP gained 2 in the TN House but apparently lost 1 in Memphis (strange, if only because it was a rematch of 2014 and the Dem got just 38%). Stephen McManus, chairman of the House Insurance and Banking committee, lost 49-51% to a left-wing nutter. The Dem won’t find much support in a 74R-25D House and will likely be a one-term wonder.

The question now is whether she can survive as Speaker. Way too much chicanery has been going on to the point she is Boss Hogg Naifeh-lite. Time to drain the RINO swamp here in Nashville.

How do you see Kustoff doing in the US House? Since he will be my new US Rep with Fincher retiring. That was a blow out. The dem never even ran an ad.
