How could He have said “enough” to what they had, then?
You forget that the roaring lion is Satan.
My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me.
Indeed, it was enough to teach them a lesson about relying on the arm of man.
Why not calm down and think?
Satan is “a” roaring lion, but he does so in feeble imitation of the real Lion of Judah. He can only bully; the Lord can inspire to exalted power.
Numbers 23:23-24. Check that out. This is the blessing that Balaam gave when Balak was trying to get Balaam to curse!
Now go get the courage you lost behind your fainting couch, already?
Come to the Lamb of God.
Ignore him.
I’m fresh outta sticks, guess my aluminum baseball bat will have to do...
Indeed.... ;-)
Hi.
:)
Hey!
:)
I like the ring of that!
There is nothing vindictive about stomping the "pen and phone" ass***e into the ground!
Forever!
After spending 8 years in hell, seeing the way out is no time to turn the other cheek!
OK Bear...br>Where in the New Testament does that appear?
In this house we read the Bible daily, every day. This election victory by Trump is a direct result of Christians bombing Heaven with prayer. I have not got off my knees to my Lord for the past few weeks. Daily, many times, I ask Him to give this nation a second chance. We now have it. It is up to us to do it or He is going to bomb this nation into the dust bin of history. This is only a short reprieve. Scripture tells us that the One World Government will come, and it will come here. So, at some point this nation will fall. Scripture says so. But, for this moment in time, God has given us one chance to clean up our act. It is now time to get busy and do it. Do it for HIM! Not us. I have tears of joy in my eyes today. Not that Trump won, but that I KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT that my LORD in Heaven hears prayers. Prayer works. THIS small victory for this nation is perfect proof. Thank you Lord Jesus.
That’s excellent — I’m talking, however, about the general popular cultural Christian presumption that the State can ever, EVER, take the parents’ place with respect to a spiritual upbringing.
It’s quipped that prayer never left schools — just ask the students before any hard exam.
However, learning formalities of the bible, of prayer, is something that must, must, begin at home — and the removal of this expected function of the state might have been just what the church needed, in God’s sovereign plan.
I.e. the State’s bible readings might encourage people to be nice. However, only the personal presence of God can actually result in salvations. God would rather have a nasty country with more salvations, than a nice one with fewer.
This makes me contrarian with respect to cultural Christian expectations, but I have long ago found out what a contrarian Jesus is, because of His extraordinary personal focus.
And we must STILL begin at home. The light and salt must emanate from the State — er, I err. From Christ in us personally. America can never be baptized into Christ as of its finest. However it can receive the salt and light from those who ARE baptized into Christ.
There could be everything vindictive about it, if Christ steps between them and you.
There could be everything vindictive about it, if Christ steps between them and you.
Because the only qualification He imposes is, “Will you believe.”
Your approach is the Alinskyite freeze-and-polarize. The person who was a sinner yesterday must be the same sinner tomorrow. God has excellent ways of saying “no” to this presumption, and we ignore Him at our peril!
