More than 1 in 5 eligible voters in Maryland have already voted in Tuesday’s election, a huge jump from four years ago, according to unofficial figures released after the state’s early voting centers closed.

Here are the no-spin facts from http://www.elections.state.md.us/press_room/

The voting in MD is way up. Democrats increased their voting by 85% vs 2012, while Republican vote is up by 102% and Unaffiliated is up by 91%.

Trump won't win Maryland, but it is nice that the R vote is disproportionately up, but early voting is new here. It started in 2012, and I didn't even know we had it until the day before it started.

The Washington Post article I'm linking to tries to spin this early voting news as good news for Hiliary.

Voting is up in an easy win state is good news for her? There really must be no place of note for them to talk good news about Hillary then

I sent my Republican MD Delegate a letter the other day suggesting he introduce legislation to reform Maryland voting.

Eliminate early voting
Purge voter rolls every 5 years
Require ID and proof of citizenship to register to vote
Require ID to vote.

Has anyone seen updates on Florida early voting updated with yesterday’s totals?

Absolutely agree with your second point. A single ID is not and cannot be sufficient. You can't even get a drivers license in most states without having MULTIPLE forms of ID and proof of residence. People -- and especially the Rats who live mostly in rentals move around a lot. A current bill is a must have.

Plus forcing them to include a "bill" will have some hilarious consequences

Who knows.

Some of those D’s may be for Trump.

Goodness knows why people in that solid blue hellhole....um state, would need to ramp up their voting so much.

Seems odd.

The DMV is a wholly owned client state of the FedGov Industry.
It is lost.

I like your suggestions, especially purging the voter rolls. Its kind of like zero based budgeting; start clean with no residual information to steer the process. If voting is important to you then make the effort to renew your registration. Its a minor inconvenience that could help to restore the legitimacy of what has become a corrupted data base. Very good idea!

I think the Southern Maryland Catholics and the Western Maryland Coal country (some mines and quite a bit of supporting industry) will keep Maryland too close to call for quite a while at least. That will really unnerve the liberals, especially the talking heads.
