The professors like to compare the murder rate pre-Ferguson with the murder rate post-Ferguson.
That is a bogus measure for dozens of reasons.
In DC the issue is response time to bad neighborhoods. Most of those crimes are not murders but shootings, robbery, theft of various kinds, assaults of various kinds, etc.
There was a hilarious video this year where a guy trashed a DC convenience store and it was caught on video—twenty minutes of it.
The convenience store owner contacted the cops immediately when the trashing started and no cops had arrived in the twenty minutes since the incident started.
Since the nearest police station was five minutes away (tops) is was obvious the cops were intentionally delaying their reaction.
Shootings don’t count as murders when they kill? Odd way to account for murder.
