Has Clinton topped Nixon?
Townhall.com ^ | November 3, 2016 | Victor Davis Hanson

Another day, another Hillary Clinton bombshell disclosure.

This time the scandal comes from disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner's laptop computer, bringing more suggestions of Clinton's sloppy attitude about U.S. intelligence law. Meanwhile, seemingly every day WikiLeaks produces more evidence of the Clinton Foundation leveraging the Clinton State Department for pay-for-play profiteering.

At this point, Clinton has trumped former President Richard Nixon's skullduggery -- but without the offset of Nixon's foreign policy accomplishments.

Even before the most recent scandals, Clinton's campaign had an eerie resemblance to the Nixon playbook.

Compare the election of 2016 to the election of 1972. The favored Nixon re-election juggernaut (dubbed CREEP, or the "The Committee for the Re-election of the President") squeezed corporations and wealthy individuals for millions in donations, in much the same way that Clinton's multimillion-dollar cash machine has vastly outspent her opponent, Donald Trump.

The Watergate tapes later revealed an entirely cynical Nixon campaign team and a hard-nosed White House cadre led by H.R. Haldeman and John Ehrlichman -- plus a host of lesser toadies, such as the conniving John Dean. They all took for granted that Washington functioned on a quid-pro-quo and pay-for-play basis.

No comparison. Nixon was patriotic and not greedy.

Compared to this, Watergate is like someone eating a few grapes at a grocery store while shopping.

Bill Clinton topped Nixon in many ways. Killery topped them all including Nixon, Bill Clinton, Carter and Putin all combined.

Clinton’s crimes are far beyond Nixon’s. Nixon tried to steal democrat campaign strategy. Just Clinton’s scheme with Brazille to steal debate questions matches that.

In addition to that Clinton has violated our most sensitive National Security secrets. She has broken laws regarding disposal of government messages and materials. She has evidently lied, covered up, and maneuvered in testimony.

And she has created an international pay for play syndicate that’s old her Secretary of State office for money.

She far exceeds anything that Nixon ever did.

Hillary Clinton is nothing more than a greedy, money grubbing witch who was more than willing to sell out the American people, and people everywhere, to enrich herself. She wants nothing more than to extend her criminal empire to even greater heights by becoming president. We cannot allow that to happen.

If Clinton loses, Weiner should be Time Magazine’s Man of the Year.

Victor Davis Hanson must be a kid or has amnesia.

I lived through the Nixon era. Just missed out on being drafted to Vietnam.

I tell you now, Nixon was a piker compared to the Clintons.

“No comparison. Nixon was patriotic and not greedy.”

In the ‘73 Arab/Israeli war Nixon told Golda Meir, “use your expendables. I’ll make them good.” Nixon ordered every transport plane in the Air Force and Navy fleet to fly 24/7 taking supplies to Israel. It took three years to bring the US inventory back up to normal levels. From that point until she died Golda called Nixon, “My President.”

I can’t picture any Democrat doing anything similar today.

Weiner should be Time Magazine’s Man of the Year.

Let’s skip the photo-shoot, plenty of pictures of him already.

Lived through Watergate and there is no comparison. The Clinton’s are far more corrupt without morals or remorse. The fact that Watergate is even considered on par is a testament to years of Democratic indoctrination in our schools.

Apparently not.

I was a battery commander in the Illinois Guard when Nixon made that commitment to Israel. Two 1/4-tons and trailers meant for my FOs were on the siding down at Camp Lincoln in Springfield for delivery to our armory. I was told they were now on the Golan Heights. I was proud of my Commander in Chief.

VDH is one of our best intellectual/farmers we have today.

The PRESS will never change it's characterization of Nixon over Hillary. For them, Nixon must remain the quintessential Presidential villain.
Hillary is a “victim” of an FBI witch-hunt, don't’ ya know?
