The New York Times Co reported a 95.7 fall in quarterly profit, hit by restructuring charges related to headcount reductions.
Net profit attributable to the newspaper publisher fell to $406,000, or break-even per share, in the third quarter, from $9.4 million, or 6 cents per share, a year earlier.
Revenue fell to $363.6 million from $367.4 million.

I suspect they only run a profit because they are being supported by ad buyers who do so only for political purposes, to keep the NYT operating.
Much corporate “image” advertising is in the form of political payoffs.
One time charge against restructuring. I wonder how many liberals will complain when the Times pays zero corporate income tax on their $360 million in revenue.
Couldn’t have happened to a slimier paper. Now all they have to do is shut down that rag. Too bad because I heard that 100 years ago it was a good paper.
Looks like this is an annual event to take advantage of tax write offs, or something similar.
