On a new episode of Netflixs futuristic sci-fi show Black Mirror, (warning: mild spoilers ahead) the British government devises a way to mitigate the environmental damage done when bees become extinct. A secret department creates tiny mechanical, self-replicating bees that distribute pollen, allowing flowers to flourish and the ecosystem to continue on unimpeded. That is, until a devious programmer learns to hack the bees, wreaking havoc and terror on the public.
The government is a (expletive), says the episodes protagonist, played by the wonderful Scottish actress Kelly Macdonald. We knew that already.
Of course, in real life, we have not yet succumbed to our mechanical winged masters. But recent news about the ironically named Affordable Care Act once again has proved a maxim to which the left clings unapologetically: There is no government-created problem so large that more government cant fix it.

At the low end:
“I’ve made a lot of mistakes. Didn’t pay attention in school, didn’t try to get a job, didn’t marry the person with whom I had a child, didn’t stay away from drugs. Now it’s your responsibility to fix my life.”
