Yeah... people’s money has rushed, like fools, into these things. What has been happening is that, in essence, places like China and Mexico are being sold an ever increasing share of the USA itself — not things that the USA has grown or made.
This is not sustainable, and all tariffs do is slow it down. The picture needs to look like barter.
The GOP took the wrong road on trade & immigration in the 90s. There was no excuse for it. It was easy to see even back then where these policies were taking the nation.
