Our future if Hillary steals the election (she’s clearly trying) or the millennials, feminists (not real women, whom I respect), and other snowflakes actually manage to vote her in...

I think I’ve spent too much time on Zerhedge. My brain is recoiling from this. Or maybe it’s the vodka. Spent all day getting my new Android phone to function as well as the old one.

Hah, I’ve spent parts of the last two days trying to get a 64 bit Android OS to run in a VirtualBox on 64 bit Linux..Turns out it’s less than straightforward for me...

Which Android phones? I’m considering going from the Samsung S4 to the S7 but I’m not 100% sure if I should. Is that the upgrade you’re talking about?

The solution is so damned obvious...

I'm not a money expert or exchange rate pro. But I'm going to give it a whirl. Have the government buy gold, print their own money and lock it to the price of gold?

Would that stabilize a perfectly worthless economy with no monetary standard.

Great post. The dollar is good ?

Travel to Zimbabwe now on bucket list...

The Elephant Camp
Looks like some 5 star reviews.......from trip advisor

“Loved this camp. Absolutely beautiful accommodations both in individual tents and in common areas. Staff was extremely attentive and we felt so welcomed to our first camp in a two week Africa trip. Food was outstanding and we were able to interact with Sylvester the cheetah and also a number of elephants. I would highly recommend this camp if you...

Are made to suffer an HRC win.

So it is a 5-7% markup to get physical dollars with the expectation that it will get worse when the Zimbabwe government issues "bond notes" which will be tied to the dollar (guaranteed, 100% backed, no cheating, pinky swear, cross my heart and hope to print 100 trillion dollar bills again).

The initial idea of a third world country using only first world currency is appealing. It has worked in Panama and Peru.

It’s only when they start “tying” their currency or doing things like this, as mentioned in the article:

“In desperation, Zimbabwe’s central bank said last month it will introduce legal tender it calls “bond notes,” pegged to the U.S. currency...”

RE post 8.

Yes, your solution provides monetary stability. But that is not enough for the bankers and free money advocates. They insist on spreading their fractional reserve model to the entire monetary system. They achieve this by imposing a central bank model that hypothecates and rehypothecates any hard money reserves that exist.

As soon as currency is introduced to replace money, and people accept it as money, the game is over.

The article says 80% of the budget goes to pay “civil servants”. There’s the problem right there.

Note 4 to LG V20. It has a lot going for it. T-Mobile has a great deal going on. $200 minus trade in value comes in a card. Trade value goes to bill credit. $150.00 B&O head phones for free. Hifi when using wired head phones. 4k video etc. Comes with 64 gigs internal and SD expansion slot expandable to stupid numbers and most importantly removable battery.

I was T-mobile customer anyway. Unlimited data (for real ) and 7gigs of tethering/hot spot.

Getting attached to it. Oh 5.7 screen. I may "Jump" back for the Note 8 if it ever materializes. May not.

Thanks. I got a Galaxy S4 several years ago and really like it. Considering jumping to the S7 but a little leery, not quite sure why. Comfort level with the old one I guess.

Now if I recall, it was Nancy Pelosi that once pointed out how more Goverment employees meant more tax payers and that was good for the economy. But she was also the same nincompoop that said unemployment and/welfare was good for the economy because it created jobs.

Was in Zim recently. Hard to imagine a more disfunctional country. Unemployment is somewhere between 4% and 95% depending on who's measuring, but no one can say with any confidence.

The fact is everyone's just waiting for Mugabe to die but there's no clear successor. It's going to be chaotic.

Really tragic to see such resources squandered.

Great post. The dollar is good ?

The dollar works everywhere in Zimbabwe and they're hungry for US currency.

Was in Victoria Falls recently but didn't stay at the Elephant Camp. Looks like a decent resort with some in-house wildlife.

If you go you might want to consider some real safari camps where you can interact with animals in the wild.
