The demonstrators were said to be part of an immigrant rights group; 10 people were arrested and no injuries were reported
The inbound upper level of the George Washington Bridge was closed by an immigrant rights protest on Wednesday morning, snarling traffic on one of the region's most important crossings at the height of rush hour.
Delays at the bridge for traffic heading into New York from New Jersey were up to nearly 90 minutes; traffic cameras showed bumper-to-bumper traffic barely inching along.

Did Chris Christie instigate this? /S
Oh, it’s immigrant activists... OK with the press, then.

In the sane days this would be a fantastic INS roundup opportunity.

They are illegal aliens demonstrating for the removal of our right to have the rule of law.
Immigrants apply for proper entry, pay their fees, learn the language, wait their turn and comply with the laws.
Illegal aliens don’t.

illegals should have been arrested and deported. If there were legal immigrants on visa’s and green cards then they should be sent back as they seem to not understand the rule of law in this country.
As for the protest, do they seriously think blocking traffic and holding up traffic is going to get them support? IDIOTS.

Idiots. Nothing will get you support like making people sit in traffic jams. ICE should be there...can round up lots that way.

You got it about right. Without presuming one way or the other whether Christie was involved in the Jersey bridge closure, there's a difference between an elected official doing this and protesters doing it: one expects more from elected officials. Nonetheless, there is no logical connection whatsoever between supporting "immigration rights" and shutting down a major bridge. It is an irresponsible and possibly dangerous action, yet the press will probably condone it.

Why can the left prance around with clenched fists all the time, and never have the press condemn them for the unquestionably violent and menacing message that conveys? If conservatives did the same, the press’s reaction of horror, the fears of imminent fascism, would be instantaneous and universal.

This what they call illegal immigrants “standing in the shadows.” They are getting in our faces and spitting on us.

Immigrant rights...Theres an oxymoron for ya... We lost this argument years ago when we established that people had an absolute right to your stuff. Welfare Rights.
Citizen Rights consist of the right to pay taxes to the government which can then use your money to subsidize your replacement in the job market. Is this a Great Country or What?

Police are searching the water beneath the GW for the bodies of several people seen falling from the bridge.
It's unclear what led to the fall.
Now time for our Traffic Update, no delays on the GW inbound or outbound...
