The blade is merely a metaphor. Americans throughout our history have certainly taken drastic measures when provoked to do so. Hanging or shooting traitors used to be a pretty common practice when the times required it. We are at that point again.
The Clinton problem has fermented for decades. Had she kept a lid on her presidential aspirations, she might have yet skated. But for such stink to occupy the top office is now intolerable and her hubris is wooing a long delayed pushback.
