Subway Accused of Hiding Jared Fogle’s Perversion for Years

The ex-wife of disgraced Subway pitchman Jared Fogle filed a lawsuit Monday against the sandwich company, claiming it knew for years about Fogle’s desire for underage girls.

Katie McLaughlin’s civil action, filed in Hamilton County, Indiana, said Subway received reports on three separate occasions — the first as early as 2004 — about Fogle’s sexual desire for young girls but did nothing to stop it.

McLaughlin, who married Fogle in 2010, said the pitchman — who claimed to have lost hundreds of pounds by eating Subway sandwiches and walking — propositioned an underage girl for sex in 2004 at a promotional event for the sandwich shop chain in Las Vegas.

We know as fact that Jared already settled with the minors. My guess (and this is pure speculation on my part) - Jared in paying the fines, probably drained the bank account and wife has zip as a result of the divorce. I suspect that she’s looking to cash in, as well.

I’m not sure what legal standing she has to sue. She was not a victim of the company. She and the kids were victimized by her husband. She can claim that the company knew and did nothing about it, but why does the company owe her money? If the company did indeed know and put an end to Jared’s employment she could not be suing them now for a piece of the pie. And this all brings up the question of whether she knew or not. Somehow, it seems to me she would have picked up on signs that her husband was a pervert, more into sex with underage girls.
