Hold it a second. S.E. Hinton is a female who wrote about males??? Isn't that cultural appropriation???? I was forced to read that book in public school. Don't remember one iota from it. In my opinion a crap book alongside "Catcher in the Rye".

Seems like today every Hollywood actress is compelled to say that they are “bisexual” even though they’ve never so much as kissed another woman in their life.

In the “mind” of a true liberal, fiction is no different from reality. In fact, there is no reality, only “my reality” and “your reality”.

” In my opinion a crap book alongside “Catcher in the Rye”

True enough and we can only imagine what new, fresh crap the victims of American schooling are now being required to read.

Same here. The characters may not have been gay, but the book was.

If an author creates a character, they know what was in their mind when they created the character. Characters do not have a life of their own like in the Woody Allen movie, the Purple Rose of Cairo. Duh!

Our boys were huge Harry Potter fans, even into their 20’s, until J. K. Rowling decided to concede that Dumbledore was gay. Now, they won’t touch the old books, won’t watch the movies, and have no interest in the new book that’s just been released.

They were further incensed when Rowling hinted that the character Hermione Granger was Black.

But, it’s her enterprise to do with as she pleases.

Just like the latest “Star Trek” film regarding Hikaru Sulu.

Gene Roddenberry, the series creator, stated unambiguously that the character was straight, as did his portrayer George Takei, himself a gay man.

Nevertheless, the modern SJW’s decided the rebooted Sulu should be gay.

Because narrative trumps everything.
