HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — Clarence Henderson was hailed as a hero nearly 60 years ago when as a young black man he participated in a sit-in at a segregated North Carolina lunch counter.

In 2016, he is again taking a risky stand; he is supporting Donald Trump.

And he isn’t shy about it. Last month he gave the invocation at a Trump rally here, smiling as he shook the Republican candidate’s hand.

“Donald Trump is certainly not a politician, and politicians are a dime a dozen, but leaders are priceless,” Henderson said in an interview.

Doesn’t this miscreant know he should be setting fires in the middle of the Interstate to ‘protest?’

He’s the real deal as opposed to the fake leaders trying to capitalize on race by exploiting their people. It’s disgusting!

Here's another article:
Civil Rights Hero Clarence Henderson Backs Trump, Gets Dragged on Twitter

Excerpt:

Clarence Henderson, an African-American civil rights icon who staged the 1960 sit-in at a Woolworth’s lunch counter to protest segregation, got dragged on Twitter for endorsing Donald Trump.

Henderson was denounced as a sell-out and an “Uncle Tom” for supporting Trump during a CNN interview.

“How much is Donald Trump paying Clarence Henderson? asked one user. “This Uncle Tom fool has sold his soul to the devil.”

Another chimed in: “Clarence Henderson just negated everything good he did for civil rights. SMH!”

Thank you for referencing that article COBOL2Java. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

Pariots are reminded that the only civil rights that the states have amended the Constituton to expressly protect which deal with race and sex are voting rights as evidenced by the 15th and 19th amendments. Those amendments give Congress the power to make federal laws that protect race and sex only in the context of voting rights.

In other words, corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification federal lawmakers have been exploiting low-information voters with unconstitutonal civil rights protections in the following way. Lawmakers have been winning votes from such people by promising race and sex-related civil rights not related to voting issues, Title IX for example, such voters evidently not understanding that states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to protect such rights.

It’s racist to assume that certain people will vote a certain way because of their skin color.

Mr. Henderson’s critics should be called out for their racism.
