The Pentagon is seeking to recover decade-old reenlistment bonuses paid to thousands of California Army National Guard soldiers to go fight in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.
The paper reported that nearly 10,000 soldiers, many of whom risked their lives during multiple combat tours, have been ordered to repay the cash bonuses after audits revealed widespread overpayments by California Guard officials under pressure to meet enlistment targets at the height of the wars 10 years ago.

unless there is fraud by the solders them selves not the one recruiting the solders. this should be ignored because if the money is collected then the government has committed fraud against enlisted the soldier. my guess is that this was done by a bureaucrat to meet the goals given to them for this to of happen. this person should be the one gone after not the men recruited.
Not to mention the green-scams : Solyndra, and those shovel ready jobs. Hey!, what happened to that Trillion friggin dollars anyway???
In a way it wasn’t fraud. They were paying more to get the enlistments they needed. It’s the market at work.
