Whose missiles are going to be launched against Turkish warplanes if they mount the next airstrike in Syria? Would Russian air defense in Syria launch theirs, breaking the recent deal made between Turkey and Russia? This may be a warning to Turkey via Syrian intermediary by Russians.

The alliance are confusing. I thought Turkey was buying oil from ISIS, and aiding (through coercion) in the redistribution of the Syrian refugees.

I dunno, but I believe any sovereign nation can pretty much take out any warplane that enters it’s airspace.

In before the first “if Turkey shoots down an invader in its airspace, they have attacked NATO”.

Did the deal include Turkey attacking into Syria at will?

If Turkey is flying into Syria, and gets a plane shot down, they can not invoke article 5 to get NATO involved - that is only if a NATO member is attacked.

So Turkey is on their own in Syria. The capability is there to shoot them down, and those guys are probably not just bluffing.

Sounds like the new rule will be no Turkish air in Syria - very good for the Kurds.

Probably smart for Assad too. No matter what deals the Russians and Turks might make, Erdogan will always want Sunni extremists to take over Syria in the end. Assad will need that Kurdish buffer.

Exponents of the Religion of Peace fighting a war of each against the other and all against all.

What a peaceful world we would all enjoy if they’d just drop dead.

It doesn't matter if a Russian or a Syrian pushes the button.

They are all Russian systems, and all the operators were trained by Russians.

The Turks would do well to heed this warning. An F-16 is no match for the S-400.

They could lose a dozen before they even know what happened.
