Senate Republican leaders on the homeland security and intelligence committees the key panels with cybersecurity jurisdiction continue to face extremely tight races for re-election just less than three weeks before Election Day.
Based on independent analysis and recent polling, Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr, R-N.C., and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., are in toss-up races, with Burr maintaining a slight lead in his campaign while Johnson appears to have closed to within a few points of his challenger after trailing by double-digit margins for months.

The battle for the Senate is on the razor’s edge. Conservatives need to double down on helping the right candidates.
Wonder if Feingold’s vid on Hillary using executive order on guns hurt him. Wisconsin has a lot of gun owners, even in Dem-leaning rural areas.
McCain/Feingold
We’re pissed at Johnson, but hate Feingold. If the GOP voters hold their noses, Ron could pull it out.
Feingold is just looking for another bite at the apple. He wants his job back.
Were pissed at Johnson, but hate Feingold. If the GOP voters hold their noses, Ron could pull it out.
I see the Wisconsin based Never Trumpers like Charlie Sykes are pushing hard to suppress the turnout for Trump. That can’t help Johnson, IMO.
I grew up in NE Wisconsin and ALL the rural parts of the state are firearms owners.
Problem with the state is Madistan, Milwaukee, the southwest part of the state and some of the college towns.
Same in Michigan where I lived for many years. Problem with Michigan is the unions down below the bridge-Trolls like their gibsmedats. The UP has a big problem with unemployment and has a large population of seniors. So that area can go either way. The UP is losing population and I would not be shocked if it went totally democrat this year. The republicans won just about everything in the 2010 election and BLEW IT ROYALLY.
I believe Scott Foval, who just was fired from People for the American Way because of Project Veritas video, is from Wisconsin.
Madison is a center of “progressive” power.
The ads for Richard Burr’s ultra liberal opponent, Deborah Ross, have been flowing like a river through the TV here in NC. She is a former ACLU lawyer and continues to harp on the fact that Richard Burr has taken lots of campaign contributions from Insurance Companies and has enriched himself during his years in the Senate.
Of course, she conveniently ignores the fact that the Clintons have become multi millionaires during their time in Washington and through the Clinton foundation they have taken in millions if not billions of pay for play contributions.
If Burr can win, this will be a huge defeat for the Demonrats and their media and vote fraud machines.
GD Wisconsin is and has been radical since the day. Yet the place was where the GOP was founded.
BTW, Wisconsin had discussed secession back prior to the civil war and guess who said that “Secession must be met with force.”paraphrasing.
Yup - and considering how long Burr has been in office (house + senate), his net wealth actually isn’t that impressive given the salaries and perks they get.
Exactly.
I don’t know what happened but something did, Slimegold was well ahead and now it’s close.
NC has been close, I have a hard time imagining this 2nd tier rat winning.
A second-tier rodent defeated incumbent Elizabeth Dole, which was quite the surprise.
I’m perplexed over Johnson/Feingold. Johnson hasn’t done THAT bad a job for us; I’ve disagreed with him on a few issues/votes, but nothing that would make me write him off.
Having dealt with Rusty in person, he is such a condescending jackass; he REALLY hates the military, and IS your typical lying lib in all other aspects.
He, like, ‘She Who shall Not Be Named’ are total entrenched establishment anti-American Socialists at heart, who have done NOTHING that’s HELPED American in 30+ years of, ‘service.’
*SPIT*
I'm not. I listened to their debate on radio (C-SPAN). I could tell every now and then that Feingold was lying, for example trying to talk around his socialism on health care. Feingold also had the nerve to say that X million more people were covered when in fact there are zero more people in Wisconsin covered. His presentation was slick and perfect for the LIVs.
Johnson on the other hand was much more precise overall but less smooth and didn't come across (on radio) nearly as polished. He had good facts but the moderators quickly moved to a new topic whenever Johnson won on substance.
Oh, I wasn’t dissing Johnson! I’m perplexed that Feingold even has a CHANCE at this again!
But, it is Wisconsin - ruled by the Loony Leftists out of Dane County, the welfare moochers in Milwaukee County and the northwest corner that butts up against Minnesota - lots of crossover fraudulent voting goes on up there where no one pays much attention...
They are adding PPP in the polling organizations. Any PPP poll, get rid of. It’s crap.
They’re based here in Raleigh and are the disgusting organization that released a poll with 57% Democrat, 21% Republican on the national race, and showed Burr losing to Ross by 3 points and Trump losing to Clintoon by 8.
That was a terrible year and Hagan had a poll lead down the stretch. Final polls were Hagan +6 (Ras), +7 (Survey USA) and +8 (PPP), She won by 8.5% as Dole lagged 5 points behind McCain.
I’m more worried about McCrory.
