Feminists OK's Adultery with John F. Kennedy on NBC’s ‘Timeless’ Television Program

NBC’s Timeless began its third episode, “Atomic City,” by excusing the acts of one of John F. Kennedy’s mistresses because she demonstrated girl power during a tough time for women.

The team time travels back to 1962 Las Vegas to stop Garcia Flynn (Goran Visnjic) from messing with history. They find a woman being taken by Flynn and save her from his clutches. She reveals her name to be Judith Campbell and Lucy (Abigail Spencer) fills the team in about Judith’s role in the 1960s, both as JFK’s mistress and her involvement with the mob. According to Lucy, Judith has powerful men wrapped around her finger.

When they tell Judith they know her secret about Kennedy, she tells the team she needs photographs Flynn took of her and the president, so as to protect herself.

Later, the two women have a conversation in which Judith expects an abrasive comment about her adulterous ways, but rather receives praise for her lifestyle "in this day and age:"

Judith: So how'd you know? This Flynn guy tell you?

Lucy: Doesn't matter. Your secrets are safe with us. As soon as we find Flynn, you can go back to-- -

Judith: To Jack? All right. Go ahead, say it. You think I'm a tramp.

Lucy: No. I think you're fascinating.

Judith: Don't think another woman's ever called me that before.

Lucy: I mean it. A woman... Especially in this day and age. Living the life that you're living. The people that you know. The things that you've seen.

Judith: Honestly, I... Felt like a nobody. And then one night, I met Jack. And the next morning, it was all different. Like a roller coaster. You ever wake up one day and not recognize your own life?

Lucy: Yes, actually. A lot lately.

Judith: And now I never know what's going to happen next. I really don't.

Lucy: Isn't that terrifying?

Judith: Some of the time.

Lucy: Do you ever wish that you could go back to your old life?

Judith: Never. It'd be easier, I guess, but I think if I did, I'd always wonder.

Lucy: Wonder what?

Judith: If I was missing out on something better.

Did Lucy really say she finds her illicit affairs fascinating? It seems as though Judith Campbell gets a free pass for being JFK’s mistress because she's a woman in a 1960s man's world. Wow. It’s just a general acceptance for the circumstances with no criticism at all.

One can’t help but connect this to Hillary Clinton running for the presidency, and her need to dodge all those inquiries about her husband’s indiscretions in the White House. Maybe Monica Lewinsky will get a pass in the media and be seen as a feminist hero? Doubtful. But we all know “Billary” does.

This episode was disappointing in its tacit approval of JFK’s playboy lifestyle, but the media and Hollywood elites have always romanticized JFK and given him a pass on his many affairs. Let’s hope our next President is filled with class and has a good set of morals -- or maybe our next, next President, like in 2020…

FU Justin, although it's nice to see a Rat starting to dimly realize that that's not a light at the end of the tunnel but an oncoming TRUMP TRAIN.

The leftist, perverted, and anti-Christian propaganda that gets crammed into primetime TV shows is only exceeded by the lies and deceit put out by the networks’ nightly “news” shows.

I have noticed that there are two narratives about JFK. One is that he was a dying man, pumped up by strange drugs, could not bend down to tie his shoes, and could not ascend the steps to his helicopter. The other is that he was a pronounced sexual athlete. There is a contradiction there, somewhere.

I saw the pilot episode of that show and quickly concluded that it wasn't going to be something worth my future viewing time. Same with that abysmal show The Good Place.

“Timeless” is fun. But I stopped watching “Designated Survivor” after it became a bald rant against conservatives.

I like a Timeless. Yes the show has a leftist bent but as long as it doesn’t go full peyronie’s then I’ll still watch. I was surprised how the time traveler was do in awe of Judith Exner, especially the comment about a “woman of your era” hobnobbing with movers and shakers. Of course a woman like her has hanging out with powerful men. Duh, they like to grab pussy!

I WANT to like it, but the constant moralizing by the black guy about how there is no time in US history where he is welcome made me start to wonder about the direction of this show.

Now this lionizing of Kennedy in this episode has me thinking it was my last episode. The direction and purpose of the show is clear to me and I don’t care for it.

I didn’t think they lionized JFK so much as much as they went on a slut walk with Judith Exner. Although I agree with you on the black guy. Why not meet up with Fredrick Douglas or some other historical figure that would show not every second of the black experience in this country had always been 12 years a slave?

You’re right - they sort of just glossed over any mention of what he was doing, focusing on the woman.

I found it ironic in the previous episode the guy is complaining about how he’s not comfortable any time in America’s past, during an episode set during the Civil War!

I only noticed one little comment he slipped in this week, about being invisible while stealing the car.

But it’s every single show, which could be pretty good if they would just leave out the social commentary and focus on the plots.

If I want social commentary. I’ll watch an NFL game.

Yeah, wth, she was nothing more than a whore, and Abigail Spencer was almost as excited to meet her as she was to meet Lincoln.

I was trying to be a fan of "Timeless" yet Hollywood can not just help themselves, they always have to get in their version of history.

John Ford always made films that told history the 'Print the Legend' way it should have been, but the Looney Left Coast nowadays offers its twisted preferred history as normal as Mom and apple pie--

I shall stop watching "Timeless" yet all along I knew it could not last before the stupid PC Police raised their heads. How long can it can it go on as it could be a great premise for a film or mini-series but not a long term multi-year series. You cannot suspend belief that long.

At least I cannot--

To tell the truth, what really pissed me off was a very little thing. I guess I am a nitpicker, but it galls me to high heaven to see such a stupid, unnecessary mistake. When Judy, Judy, Judy goes to 'see' the General (another liberal historical invention), he has his 'US' emblems placed wrong on his collar points. Since they evidently did not have anyone with "Heavens Forbid!" military experience on set, all they had to do was google 'Army Uniform Regulations' but no, that is too much trouble.

Well, it is not too much trouble for me to click my remote to not have 'Timeless" on my DVD. And "Timeless" will not get it added to their ratings--

This is one of the odd things about the legacy stories told about JFK. Either he was totally doped up on pain-killers, or he was Bill-Clintoning women left and right. He can’t be both.

JFK’s rep for womanizing was made long before the White House. The supposed list of trysts after inauguration isn’t that long from what I recall. Even some pretty sick people can manage a sexual liaison every few months.

A lot of health problems become much worse after 40.
