Axelrod: Maybe Clinton should reconsider final debate

Democratic strategist David Axelrod on Saturday suggested that Hillary Clinton skip her third and final debate with Donald Trump.

The former White House adviser to President Obama responded to Trump's call for a drug test before his next debate with Clinton later this month.

"You have to wonder if @HillaryClinton will/should reconsider next debate, given the depths to which this has sunk," Axelrod tweeted.

Drug testing?!? You have to wonder if @HillaryClinton will/should reconsider next debate, given the depths to which this has sunk. — David Axelrod (@davidaxelrod) October 15, 2016

ADVERTISEMENT Trump floated the idea of a drug test during a campaign rally Saturday in New Hampshire, comparing himself and Clinton to athletes preparing for a big event.

Is it too much to ask to have our elected officials as well as those seeking office do the same?

Interesting idea -- see:

Americans Want Congress Members To Pee In Cups To Prove They're Not On Drugs

According to a new HuffPost/YouGov poll, 64 percent of Americans favor requiring welfare recipients to submit to random drug testing -- a measure pushed by Republican lawmakers in recent years -- while 18 percent oppose it. But an even stronger majority said they're in favor of random drug testing for members of Congress, by a 78 percent to 7 percent margin. Sixty-two percent said they "strongly" favor drug testing for congressional lawmakers, compared to only 51 percent who said the same of welfare recipients.

Her exorcist won’t be available until after the debate. She needs to bleed off some evil before her phony clown show.

You are right. If a USPS driver must submit to random drug testing, then so should our elected officials and judges who make life and death deciisions should to.

I have thought and speculated for some time that she would chicken out on the last debate for four basic reasons , although there are others. 1, She has no issues. She only has personal lying attacks on Trump, who is a fine man. He runs circles around her on substantive issues, 2. She is sick and very weak. She risks a public episode, 3.She was brutally destroyed in the last debate by Trump and she doesn’t want to feel that whip he will bring — again, 4 she can’t answer the Wikileak and Veritas questions about “pay for play” bribes she was paid. In short she is a sick, criminal liar and a coward.

She can not win it. For her to win the next debate she has to explain exactly WHY she should be elected in the face of overwhelming evidence she is a corrupt and even criminal politician. All Trump has to do is tear her a new rear end like a junk yard dog and she has exposed a generous rear end to the assault. She can attack him if she wants but she won’t gain a thing by doing so. She can’t “win” be “looking presidential” while he is tearing the hide off her and she can’t win attacking him because she has nothing to attack with. He has been unphased by everything she has thrown and her surrogates will not be at her elbow. She, personally, has to sling any mud she cares to and he has shown an ability and willingness to fire right back. Frankly, he has a LOT MORE AMMO.

Especially since the time Rep Hank Johnson made a complete ass of himself when he, with a straight face expressed concerns about Guam tipping over into the Pacific because he thought we had too many military personnel there.

NP!

Trump could just invite Johnson and Stein and they can spend the time savaging Hillary.

They’d all jump in the polls.

I would not be shocked in the least if ILLARY were to duck the next debate seeing as how it is on Fox and she detests the network, even though it is now pretty much on her side - except for a few of the personalities. Pretty sure that Chris Wallace (Mike’s son) is safely in the tank.

That wasn't the first time Johnson said something like that.

However, his staff always claims "he was joking".

The "tell" would be how other members of Congress reacted. If they were laughing, it was perceived as a joke. But, if they all sat stone-faced or looking down, you know what they really think of him.

A better idea: each nominee’s party chooses a moderator for the debate.

Axelrod is putting his finger in the wind to test the reaction from the DEM base to her skipping the debate.

There was another trial balloon yesterday from a different source.

I have been predicting for a while there will be no third debate—for a bunch of reasons.

We will know soon enough.
