Which attorney thought that these kinds of claims were not actionable? These are not related to his actions as a public figure.
Where did the Guardian say this? I was on their website and they’re still running that stupid essay by this lying woman. With no comments allowed, of course.

Oh, so they haven’t admitted to their dishonesty. Yet. Or ever. A disgusting rag - perpetrating hatred towards Israel and America every single damn day. Even in their food and wine columns (and I’m not kidding).

I am inclined to think Trump should tell these people: so sue me! OR I will sue you for defamation. It doesn’t matter that he’s now a public figure. What he’s accused of is alleged private behavior. The media outlets that have gone with false stories and that failed to vet the accuser, or to try to validate her tale, has to be liable. The suit vs Rolling Stone is going forward so far as I know. Media outlets are not immune. The victim just has to show there was malice, and the intent to inflict damage without any care of the damage done. That’s a layman’s take but I think it comes pretty close to what his lawyers would be able to claim.
I’d LOVE to see him own Gloria Allred, all the networks, CNN, and especially the NYT. Can’t you see the New Year’s Eve ball coming down on the glamorized Trump Building on Trump Square? The thought warms the cockles of my heart!
