Samsung SSNLF, +0.00% warned customers Wednesday about its washing machines after one blew up on a Georgia woman. The top-load machines in question were made between March 2011 and April of this year, the company announced. We are in active discussions with the (Consumer Product Safety Commission) to address safety issues, according to a company statement. In rare cases, affected units may experience abnormal vibrations that could pose a risk of personal injury or property damage. But Samsung washing machine owner Melissa Thaxton, 32, of Dallas, Georgia, said her machine actually blew up. It was the loudest sound. It sounded like a bomb went off in my ear, Thaxton told ABCs Good Morning America. There were wires, nuts, the cover actually was laying on the floor. Samsung is telling customers to use the lower-speed delicate cycle when washing bedding, bulky or water-resistant materials. There have been no incidents using this cycle.

Post of the day.
Probably the year.
I bought a 54-inch Samsung Plasma in 2013. Wathched it mainly on weekends as I was working out of town. The power supply board fried and the TV quite working in January this year. I estimated about 1,000 hours of viewing. So no big deal I take to the repair guy and low and behold he calls me and says the TV is obsolete and parts are no longer available from Samsung!
So I start searching the internet suppliers and sure enough the $100 part could not be had. So I called Samsung and 3 months later they replaced it a new 65-inch 4K-SUHD Curved screen unit.
I had to go round and round with them, their first offer was $400 reimbursement, but after several irate phone conversations I got the new TV.
