Take a chill pill, Vox.
Nobody is going to jail here.
January 19 will be PARDOMNAGEDDON.
EVERYONE is getting a pardon. Obama will have
a legendary case of writers cramp as he leaves office.
I guess we should not of imprisoned all those former IL governors, Jake or Zach wetfyni.
Trumps best response would have been to bring up that the country would once again be following the rule of law and that, because of this, she would most likely be in jail.
Although I’m fine with his original statement about the special prosecutor. After all, if she didn’t do anything illegal, as she claims, what’s she got to be afraid of?
When DT brought up the Wikileaks Goldman speech where she told the Goldman speech attendees you have to have a public and private position....she tried to put the comments into context stating the comment had to do with an Abraham Lincoln speech......but she then stated in re: to Wikileaks "if the leaks can be believed" (paraphrasing).
Her attempt to frame her comments was an admission that what was leaked was indeed true. She then tried to stuff the genie back in the bottle by throwing shade as to the validity of Wikileaks......ooops!
This is ridiculous...the Constitution specifically specifies that prosecution for treason is permitted.
Oh yeah, you’re right. I guess missed that. I just saw Ezra Klein’s mug in the pic before the story and ascribed the article to him...
What scares people like Klein is that Trump may actually follow through. Where Klein conflates (probably on purpose) the issue is that Trump is referring to crimes committed while in office, rather than the Leftist standard of jailing someone merely because they disagree with you.
FBI Director Comey’s claim that telling people to turn Top Secret code word material into “nonpaper” and send it on a nonsecure email system is not illegal is a threat to the rule of law. President Trump’s promise to restore the rule of law is the only (peaceful) hope for democracy.
I guess he knows that a special prosecutor would find that Hillary did indeed break the law.
“The author is Zack Beauchamp.”
He is Ezra Klein without the personality.
Of course, this is from Vox.
The willingness of politicians to back each other regardless of the indiscretion is the greatest threat to democracy.
Providing politicians and government officials with more extreme punishment for criminal activity is the solution to a more perfect union, republic, or democracy.
Hey, Zack, need I remind you how many activists in your party were/are openly calling to toss George W in jail?
I’m not exactly sure what’s wrong with this threat. Seems about time somebody said it. It’s nice we have a candidate not under the thumb of Karl Rove.
Just like they invented the idea that Trump was talking about sexual assault when discussing women who let famous men do things to them, the left is now inventing the idea that Trump said hed throw Hillary in jail. He explicitly said that hed appoint a special prosecutor to investigate her crimes. Obviously, that he later said, Youd be in jail (NOT Id throw you in jail), indicates that he believes the special prosecutor would have enough to prosecute her over and that shed be convicted.
What Trump wants is for her to finally play by the same rules as the rest of Americans. That freaks the lefties out because they believed the Clintons could and should get away with any and everything.
Why isn’t there ALREADY a special prosecutor? Doesn’t THAT threaten democracy?
Karl Rove...Karl Rove...a vague memory of someone by that name...didn’t he used to be the devil?
