On Friday morning, the debate moderators emerged for the long-awaited presidential brawls between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. The first presidential debate will be moderated by Lester Holt of NBC News; the vice presidential debate will be moderated by Elaine Quijano of CBS News; Martha Raddatz of ABC News and Anderson Cooper of CNN for the second debate; and finally, Chris Wallace for the third debate.
This isnt a great list for Hillary, but its a worse list for Trump.
Thats to be expected, since the media heavily support Hillary. Lester Holt is perceived as more objective than most, but he still leans left in his coverage. During the Democratic National Convention, he described President Obamas speech thusly: The roar is deafening here in this arena. President Obama delivering a speech, a powerful arc embracing hope and optimism, a passionate endorsement of Hillary Rodham Clinton and at times an artful takedown of Donald Trump, a call for Americans to participate in democracy. And here was Holts description of Hillarys big moment in the spotlight at the DNC: Tonight from Philadelphia, history in the birth place of American democracy. Holt has also been rather tough in his questioning of Trump during Trumps attacks on Hillary, and supremely soft on Hillary (question to Hillary months ago: How will you move the needle on race relations? Is there a moon-shot type strategy?).
Then theres Quijano, whom few have heard of but when she was working at CNN in 2008, she worked to spin for Barack Obama; she has also reported on global warming back in 2014 thusly: A 10-foot rise in sea level would submerge tunnels and subways here in Manhattan and parts of Queens and Brooklyn. But, Scott, it would also put the entire city of Miami Beach and much of South Florida underwater.
Terrific.
Martha Raddatz made headlines in 2012 when she didnt reveal, before moderating the vice presidential debate, that she had actually invited President Obama to her wedding; her husband would then become Obamas FCC commissioner. In 2012, she allowed Joe Biden to run roughshod over both her and Paul Ryan.
Anderson Cooper is obviously heavily biased to the left just view his pathetic interview with Pam Bondi in Florida after the Orlando jihadist attack in a gay nightclub, in which he hammered her for the sin of not supporting same-sex marriage.
Finally, theres Chris Wallace. Wallace is the most left-leaning of the major Fox hosts (other than Shep Smith, of course) but hes also been friendly to Trump, performing softball interviews with Trump and attacking his rivals.
Overall, this might be the best lineup Republicans could have negotiated. But its just more evidence that nearly the entire media leans left and that those who lean right will never be tolerated by Hillary Clinton. Which means that Republicans are always at a disadvantage, and they ought to be prepared for that disadvantage.
I actually loved it when AC started debating Trump! Hillary is standing in the background like the fat girl at the Prom!
Standard approach:
Moderator asks question, listens to answer.
ABC approach:
Moderator asks questions, interrupts and argues with a candidate if a candidate has a political view different from their own.
Fox News has been the most disappointing. One time I thought they tried to be at least reasonably fair but that idea left a long time ago with this race. Last night Brett Baier and Megyn Kelly devoted about 10 minutes (when I turned on the TV) to Trump’s lewd comments and about 10 seconds to Hillary Goldman-Sach’s comment. I knew what to expect from Megyn but I thought Brett was one of the few left that was objective. Well, no more.
Goodbye Fox.
Benedict Arnold was more patriotic than many American traitors. Does in the tank for Hillary come in degrees of rabidness?
Immediately after the debate Megan said “America lost” Bye bye Megan.
He should have been prepared to say “Three against one-JUST TO MAKE IT FAIR”.
MODERATors weren’t too bad.
It was disgraceful.
“America just lost”
Mystery solved, Megyn and Shep are one.
DITTO - something has changed for the worse at FoxNews...
Obama was a guest at Marthas wedding. Obama appointed Marthas husband as head of the FCC.
Bias.
While Trump was lambasting Zero and Hellary about announcing plans to attack the enemy in advance, you could hear Martha asking him to tell us what his plan would be.
I was never a big fan of Brett who I think is a lightweight. Lately, he appears to have gone over to the dark side.
She did this several times
She was debating Trump!
I half expected her to leave her seat and take Clinton’s place.
Trump’s plan for military - kill the heck out of them and not let them know we’re coming.
Clinton/Obama plan -wait a while and use psycology on them to get them to surrender.
CNN and MSM are worse than communist media.
People saw white, but they are “analyzing” with wave after wave of “experts” telling us we saw black.
Sick and criminal. Not a speck of decency left in media whores.
Go Trump! Expose them all, we get it!
“Fox News has been the most disappointing. One time I thought they tried to be at least reasonably fair but that idea left a long time ago with this race. “
There is a reason they got rid of Roger Ailes. With him there, this never would have happened. I fully believe that sex scandal was a set up to get Ailes out of there.
Remember, to a rat, it isn’t the crime that matters. It is the accusation.

I noticed, and they were grinning like possums backed into a corner the whole time. They obviously had planned on that talking point, but after Trump’s KO, it was way out of context of what had just happened, and it fell flat.
