An American Future
Vanity | October 8, 2016 | William Flax

Posted on 10/08/2016 10:49:52 AM PDT by Ohioan

The political "news" today is dominated by mass media glee at being able to publish an eleven year old recording of some less than couth, less than refined--yet wholly private--discussions of sexual themes by the Conservative Republican candidate for President, Donald Trump. While Donald's comments, little more than trivial male banter, do not rise to the actual sexual self- indulgent history of Democratic Presidents Kennedy, Johnson or Clinton; neither that fact, nor Donald Trump's apology, nor even the grotesque moral flaws of Hillary Clinton, should be our principal focus.

This election is not about who is the nicest--with all his flaws & virtues, it is obviously Donald Trump;--nor, certainly is it about who can be the most sanctimonious; nor who is the most hypocritical--clearly Mrs. Clifton;--but all such "likeability issues," are mere trivia compared to whether or not America survives in any recognizable form.

Although a registered Republican, I have in the past week received three separate, large, expensively produced, flyers attacking Donald Trump as being a threat to women, from the Ohio Democratic Party. They deal not with any actual issue, but purely with personality. It has been obvious for some, that that this was going to be the principal tactic of both the mainstream media and the Hillary Clinton campaign. We cannot ignore it, but we can counter it effectively with a disciplined approach.

We can learn a lot, frankly, from the foe on this; but without rolling in the gutter with them. Note how they always seek to make the campaign about personality, rather than the crucial issues that go to whether or not we have an American Future--a future true to the promises of the American foundation;--a future where we secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves & our posterity. When a Conservative tries to question the open border, or the betrayal of those in law enforcement by the Administration; or the betrayal of veterans; or the betrayal of American communities by those putting global ventures rather than Americans first, or the betrayal of children, by the Federal takeover of local education, etc.; the Leftist advocate always pivots to the personal attack. And all too often, it works--at least to the extent of taking the sting out of our argument. We need to learn how to reverse the process; how to immediately pivot back to our issues--the real issues that concern an American future--not their issues.

We are not fighting for a "politically correct" society, where people are never allowed to sound uncouth, never allowed to express critical thoughts. We are fighting for the continuation of what they laid down their very lives for in the Revolution; fighting for individual dignity, individuals able to make the vital decisions in their lives, without the leave of global minded rulers. When some sanctimonious jerk starts attacking Donald Trump for being sometimes rough in his forms of expression; immediately pivot, demand that they explain how in their regimented, over regulated future, we protect the individual American from being drowned in a form of international collectivism that has all the aspects of Communist or Nazi thought control, simply more euphemistically explained. Hillary Clinton, like the great totalitarian movements, has been quite outspoken that she believes that traditional individual rights and aspirations must yield to group interests.

When we are accused of being bigoted for wanting to control our borders, never apologize; rather pivot to the reality, that it is insane to allow your lands to be flooded by people you have not screened; people who will take the jobs of American youth, people who do not share our values--and the anti-American riots in California and elsewhere would be very difficult to explain if one believes that those flooding in, do share our traditional values. As for well settled people of Hispanic origins, who share our values; Donald Trump has already demonstrated that many of them are fully with us--their patriotism, being actually insulted by the Left, is not an argument for allowing a vastly different class of migrants to undermine our societies.

The point is that one should pivot to the attack; never get bogged down answering the lies of the Left. Always remember that America & an American Future are the issues.

It is not a bad idea, if you are reasonably articulate, to also add a few words about what patriotism & loyalty mean to you; about honoring a proud & noble heritage. We have the high ground!

Bill Clinton rape accuser Juanita Broaddrick is weighing in on Donald Trump’s controversial comments from 2005 that are mysteriously resurfacing just hours before the second debate and weeks before the general election.

“How many times must it be said,” she tweeted Saturday morning.

“Actions speak louder than words. (Donald Trump) said bad things! (Hillary Clinton) threatened me after (Bill Clinton) raped me.”

How many times must it be said? Actions speak louder than words. DT said bad things!HRC threatened me after BC raped me.

Gentlemen, this was dashed off as a response to the media feeding frenzy on their "great find," which we need to turn to our advantage. Certainly to those who demand an American Future for the American people, it should be taken not just as another example of dirty politics, but as a call to action.

America is far too important for us to allow ourselves to be side-tracked & lose focus. I suspect that there are very few people, here or elsewhere, who would think it acceptable to have every private conversation on any subject to be recorded and used against them, eleven years later.

Contrast this mass feeding frenzy in the media, with the handling of Hillary items--not eleven years old, but directly related to her present campaign!

Thank you!

We need such principles-based opinions expressed over and over on forums such as this and others.

Progressives want to focus on issues.

Liberty lovers must focus on the principles and ideas which can restore freedom, opportunity, prosperity and hope to rising generations of Americans and the world.

Thank you! I applaud that image of an American family. May God sustain them in the ongoing fray. May all lovers of our free and inspired traditions, rally to their banner!

What is the state law regarding recording someone without their knowledge
where this happened? Just curious.

Not sure, if there is anything applicable. Recording one’s telephone conversations, without notice that you are doing so, is probably illegal most places; but having a recorder on you in a conversation is a different matter.

BRAVO !

In the scene of this nation's political history, what Trump said 11 years ago, about something that took place longer ago than that, is a big fat NOTHING!

Jefferson called Adams an Hermaphrodite and much worse.

Burr called EVERYONE, including Washington, terrible things and killed Hamilton on purpose, whilst Hamilton shot into the air, like a gentleman.

The Whigs went after Jackson and his wife so badly, that Andy blamed the entire party for his wife's untimely death!

There's so much more, but lets skip forward to more modern times...the 1950s. The Dems started a vile "WHISPERING CAMPAIGN" that Mamie Eisenhower was a "closet drunk" AND WORSE...A FALLING DOWN ONE and a CUCKHOLD.

Most people, now, have less than NO idea what was done to Mr. Nixon, FOR MANY DECADES, nor why he was labeled "tricky Dick" by them, or even what the context of "I AM NOT A CROOK" was, yet they throw it all out there, STUPIDLY !

The "Tricky Dick" thing was in reference to a flyer printed on PINK paper ( in reference to Helen Gahagen Douglas being a PINKO ! ) when he ran for the Senate and won.

The "I AM NOT A CROOK", was said in the 'CHECKERS SPEECH" which everyone needs to look up!

Nixon was driven to paranoia and chased out of office for NOTHING but revenge from the left!

Hopefully, everyone here knows how Reagan was treated and forward.

The big general rule is being "part of the conversation"....

I can record a conversation between you and me....but a 3rd party cannot record our conversation without permission. But every state is different.

Your welcome.

I didn't want to steal your thunder ( very well written thread! ), so I tried to keep it short. There's a whole LOT more of DIRTY TRICKS and vile, rude, and crude language that is in our presidential history. And even without radio, T.V., the net, and iphones, smears, lies, etc., back at the beginning of this nation, flew around almost as rapidly!

Whatever the jurisdiction (industry; city; county; state, etc.) .. it could be different for each state.

I thought that Donald Trump did very well at the debate, last night, in the time provided. Had there been a little more time, perhaps he would have responded in more detail to Mrs. Clinton's claim that he disrespected the Moslem American Captain killed in Iraq. He could have added to his comment that the Captain would still be alive, had Trump been the President, with the obvious fact that the father, whom Hillary had invited to her Convention to smear Trump, was the one who had actually disrespected the dead hero, by using his death as a political prop.

That was a clear misuse of the son's sacrifice, however you slice it. It reminded me of the morally disgraceful way that Sarah Brady paraded her brain damaged husband around America as a prop for anti-Second Amendment activities.

Let us take this American Holiday—disparaged by those who hate our traditions—to double down in our efforts to elect Donald Trump! Again: America in a recognizable form is at stake; America the issue!
