Following the release of a 2005 video in which Donald Trump made obscene comments about how he gropes women and might commit adultery, Utah senator Mike Lee called on Trump to step aside so that someone else could challenge Hillary Clinton.
"You yourself, sir, Mr. Trump, have stated repeatedly that the goal, the objective, has got to be to defeat Hillary Clinton in November. I couldn't agree more. It is for precisely that reason, Mr. Trump, that I respectfully ask you, with all do respect, that you step aside. Step down. Allow someone else to carry the banner of these principles,"

The Utah governor, Chaffetz, Huntsman, Mike Lee, Evan McMullin.
Remember how months ago when McMullin announced his candidacy there was talk that the one thing his candidacy might accomplish would be to deny Utah to Donald Trump in order to throw it to Hillary in a close election?
This may be a last-ditch effort by the GOPE and the Bushes to try to gain traction to deny Utah to Trump.

You make a terrific observation. I was supporting Newt Romney. The Mormons appeared in mass to our legislative caucus and voted their slate of delegates. For the first time in my 14 years working for the Republican Party I failed to go to the state convention as a delegate. All of the delegates were Romney delegates. I was not a happy camper afterwards.
At the last caucus, they pulled the same stunt and got all Cruz delegates to go to the state convention. Cruz had the Canadian issue and was a guaranteed loose for the presidency. I wonder if there is a pattern here?
