Once affirmative action withstood legal challenges, men (at least white and Asian ones) knew they’d do all the work while “preferred minorities” got the money and promotions for their efforts. Having men opt out of raising families was the initial problem; at this point they can’t get them to do the work for everyone else anymore.

One silver lining to all this is that I’ve been able to slow down at work to a woman’s pace; it is like working a part-time job after the years I spent busting my hump working unpaid overtime...

Yep. Same here. Someone pointed out to me that I used to work a lot more overtime. My response was, “Yep. I wised up. My life is more valuable than your overtime pay.”

That sounds nice, but I bet you still have to go to the office kitchen to make the ladies sammiches.

I am a staff nurse at a busy acute care hospital....I and all of my coworkers, mostly women, could run circles around the likes of you...

I've wrote this before but in our ICU ONE nurse was responsible for the total care of a huge obese man...moving him, feeding him, medicating him, changing him, etc....

the day came when he was going to be discharged to an acute care rehab facility....

they sent 5 burly firemen to more him....it took 5 of them what it took one nurse to do...
